George may have "adopted" the name FOOR, supposedly formerly a BRIMMER or
BREMER. Adopted the name FOOR from his foster parents during the Great
Depression. [I have only seen this person's name listed as "Clinton" or "Clinton B.", though in the 1900 and 1910 census's, there's a BREMMER listed that I am assuming at this time to be him. Never have I seen the name "George" yet.

To see the BREMMER info, you need to search for that name.

OBIT:
Lillian Sellers, 97, of Morning Sun died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013.

Born Sept. 25, 1915, in upper New York State, she was the daughter of James Frank Peters and Virgie Ellen Foor. In 1934, she married Howard Sellers.

Mrs. Sellers moved to Wapello at a young age and attended Wapello High School. She worked part time at the local grocery store. After high school, she went to work at the Louisa County Courthouse, working with the auditor. She was the last manual telephone switchboard operator in Morning Sun, worked in the Morning Sun Post Office for 25 years and owned a local gas station and the Sunny Side Cafe.

She and her husband shared a lifelong passion for horse breeding and racing, spending many happy hours following the race circuit. She was involved with her children's activities at church, Scouts, 4-H and sports. She was an avid reader. She was a member of the Louisa County Historical Society, United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Sorosis Professional Women's Club, Lionesses, Oakland Social Club, Home Club, Couples Bridge, Women's Bridge, Cub Scout Leader, 4-H Leader and Neighborhood Club, and she served in leadership roles for many of these groups. She loved to travel and was able to do so all over the United States and to many foreign countries. Her family also hosted a foreign exchange student from Germany, and this led to an ongoing relationship that included visiting him and his family in Germany. And in 2005, she received the honor of the Morning Sun Citizen of the Year.

Survivors include her three children, Ann, Aletha and Alfred; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, one sister and one brother.

Cremation has been accorded.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Morning Sun Centenary United Methodist Church.

The memorial service for Mrs. Sellers will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Morning Sun Centenary United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Sue-Ellen Sherman officiating.

A memorial has been established for Morning Sun Centenary United Methodist Church.

Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun is in charge of arrangements.
