Pataskala Boy Dies in Bike-Car Mishap. A 12 year old Pataskala boy was killed while riding his bicycle when he was struck by a car on Ohio 310 two miles north of Pataskala Tuesday night. Randall Lee Foor was pronounced dead on arrival at Children's Hospital in Columbus. Sheriff's deputies said the driver of the car was not held. LANCASTER EAGLE GAZETTE, Lancaster, Ohio, Feb. 27, 1973, p 1.

1963 - Pataskala - a 12-year-old boy on his way home from visiting his grandmother became Licking County's fourth traffic victim in 1963. Randall Lee Foor, a seventh grader at Watkins Memorial Junior high School, was dead on arrival at Children's Hospital, Columbus, after he was struck by a car at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday, three miles north of here on Ohio 310. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Foor who live on Harrison Twp. Rd. 148. According to Deputy Sheriff Stephen Cost and Sgt Kenneth Rickus, Randall had been helping his grandmother, Mrs. Florine Foor, with chores on her farm on Ohio 310, about 300 yards from the youngster's home. After he finished, he started riding north on Ohio 310 on his bicycle when he was struck from behind by a car driven by Ronnie W. Cain, 20, Rt. 1, Pataskala. Cain told depuuties that he was going about 45 m.p.h. and didn't see the bicyclist until he was 'right on top of him'. Rickus reported that the bicycle had no lights or fenders. It was raining at the time, Rickus said. No charges will be filed pending completion of the investigation, Rickus said. Randall died enroute to Children's hopsital and Dr. Robert H. Evans, Franklin County coroner, has ordered an autopsy to determine exact cause of death.

Born August 12, 1950 to Robert and Martha Jane (Young) Foor, Randall is survived by his parents and five brothers; Robert of Columbus, Raymond, Dale, Kenneth and Terry, all of the home. The boy was a member of Pataskala Methodist Church, also Troop 21, Boy Scouts, Pataskala, and Little League basball. [Newark Advocate, Newark, Ohio, March 27, 1963
- The funeral of Randall Lee Foor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Foor, Harrison Twp., Rd. 148, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Methodist Church in Pataskala. The Rev. Paul Angell will conduct the service and burial will be in Pataskala Cemetery. [Newark Advocate, Newark, Ohio, March 28, 1963]

[NOTE in 1900 the "26" years of marriage seems to not be feasible. If so, they'd appear married in 1880 census. In 1910, they say they were married 25 years. Should the '26' in 1900 be 16? The number '2' the first time written appears to be very heavy, as if perhaps it had been changed to a 1?

1920 - Husband is Tired of Married Life and Does Not Provide for Wife and Child -- Declares Lithopolis Wife, in Alimony Suit Filed in Court -- She Wants the Child. An alimony suit was filed in court Thursday by Helen Oyler against Chester Oyler. She charges failure to provide and prays for temporary and permanet alimony. They were married at Lithopolis July 7, 1919, and one child, John, now nine months old was born to them. She asks for the custody of their child. Plaintiff declares that the defendant has told her he is tired of married life and that he does not intend to do any better. [Lancaster Daily Eagle, Lancaster, Ohio, August 20, 1920]

LOCATION: 1929 - $5000 Asked in Love Suit. Lithopolis Man Charges Woman With Alienating His Wife's Affection. Chester Oyler of Lithopolis instituted suit in the Fairfield county Common Pleas court Monday against Jennie Kieckle, also of that village, for damages in the sum of $5,000 charging her with defrauding him of his wife's (Ruth Oyler) affection, society and services. The petition alleges that at various times between June 1st, 1928 and October 27th, the defendant maliciously persuaded his wife to take up residence with her which she did on October 1928. The plantiff charges that she left his home contrary to and against his desires. The petition further alleges that his wife has remained with Jennie Kieckle ever since the said date of leaving the plaintiff. Wherefore, due to the loss of the affection of his wife, her society and services, suffering of mind and body, he has been put to shame and dishonor and damaged in the sum of $5000 for which he asks judgment and costs of the suit. G. C. Raver is the attorney for Chester Oyler. [Circleville Herald, Circleville, OH, Sept. 10, 1929]
