Ronald M. Ament, 83, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital in Clinton Township, Mich.

Born Jan. 23, 1922, in Burlington, he was the son of Marshall D. and Daisy A. Nearhood Ament. On May 9, 1942, he married Arsema F. McKeever in Kahoka, Mo. She died March 9, 1992.

Mr. Ament worked primarily in automotive repair until his retirement in 1988.
He lived in the Wapello area while growing up. He was a Navy veteran, serving from 1942 to 1945.

Survivors include two daughters, Gail A. Waugaman of Chesterfield, Mich., and Marsha D. Ament of Lyman, Neb.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Leslie N. Ament of Burleson, Texas; and one sister, Doris Barinski of White Cloud, Mich.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

The graveside service for Mr. Ament and his wife, whose body was cremated at the time of her death, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Wapello Cemetery in Wapello, with the Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Family and friends are welcome.

Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello is in charge of local arrangements.

Sent to me by a Crawford Co., IN GenWeb volunteer, "[according to] Mack Tucker's Crawford county cemetery list: 'Foor Private Burial Place -- J. E. Foor, d Sept 4 1841', [and Tucker says] located about a mile east of Sulphur, IN. At the time I visited the place it was an open field belonging to Grant Satterfield (1954). It was carefully avoided in the farming and the headstone was carefully braced to keep it from falling over. Only one grave could be located'"

"Oakville Woman Passes Away at Daughter's Home - Oakville, IA., March 25 -- Mrs. Elizabeth Biggs passed away Wednesday morning at Wapello at the home of Mrs. Wm. Fitzgibbon, her daughter. Death was caused by neuralgia of the heart. Mrs. Biggs was the widow of John Biggs. She will be remembered as Elizabeth Foor. She was born in Bedford Co., PA., Sept. 16, 1843, and married to John Biggs who preceeded her in death 40 years. They were the parents of five daughters and two sons. [Those?] of whom survive are: Mrs. Win. Fitzgibbon, Mrs. Millard Hicklin, Mrs. Norman Marshall, and Mrs. [article cut off at right] ____ Bishop, all of Wapello. Funeral services will be held from the Fitzgibbon home Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. O. E. McBride. Interment in Wapello cemetery. SHOCK OF WIFE'S DEATH IS FATAL TO FRANK GRASS, 75; WED 45 YEARS

Forty-five years of married life was terminated last night for an aged East Chicago couple, who were joined in death within a three-hour interval prior to midnight.

Mrs. Frank Grass, 69, died at their home, 707-14th street, at 8:30 p.m., and the news of her death induced a fatal cerebral hemorrhage for her husband, 75, who succumbed at midnight in St. Catherine's hospital.

The couple resided in East Chicago for the past 25 years and Grass is a retired employe of the old Interstate plant.

She is survived by a son, Ralph Foor, and a daughter, Mrs. Edna Love, both by a previous marriage; two sisters, Mrs. J. C. Water, Carroll, Ohio, and Mrs. Frank Ebner, Columbus, Ohio, and a brother, John Bower, also of Columbus. Grass is survived by two sisters, Miss Kate Grass and Mrs. Jen Beaman, and a brother, Edward, all of New Albany, Ind.

Brief funeral services will be held tomorrow evening at 8 o'clock in Huber's chapel prior to removal of the bodies to Lithopolis , Ohio , for burial Sunday. Source: Obituary, 13 Dec. 1940, The Hammond Times, Hammond , IN , p. 34.

A very pretty wedding took place on Wednesday morning April 29 at the home of Mrs. Elizabeth Grubb in West Providence township, when her daughter Miss Anna B. Grubb was happily married to Mr. Harry H. Foor, of East Providence township. The ceremony was performed by Rev. C. F. Weise, pastor of the Breezewood Methodist church in the presence of many guests. LOCATION: 1917 - R. R. Ruble of Greencastle reported to Chief of Police Henry J. Wallace Saturday evening that his Ford touring car had been stolen from North Broad street fifteen minutes after he had parked his machine, the second car north of the safety zone on the northwest park. The license number was 67101, the motor number 1,621,821. A fur robe lined with red and yellow and a yellow summer robe were in the car and were also taken. Mr. Ruble was in the city Monday and no word has been received from the automobile, postcards were sent out to all surrounding towns describing the outfit and asking the cooperation of the police in running it down. Walter R. Woy, a highly respected citizen of West Providence Twp., died at his home, Everett R. D. 2, Wednesday afternoon, March 16, following a lingering illness. Mr. Woy was born in the township in which he died, April 11, 1884, and was one of the communities progressive farmers. His parents, Ezekiel and Laura B. (Foor) Woy, preceded him in death. He was united in marriage with Lula Armentrout, who survives. Also surviving are these brothers and sisters, McKinley and Arthur Woy, Everett, Hershel C. Woy, Everett, Pearl, wife of Jacob Sollenberger, and Lena, wife of Harvey Sollenberger, Everett, and Effie W. Heberlig of Steelton... largely attended funeral serices were held Saturday... interment was made in the family plot in the Everett Cem... [Bedford Gazette, Bedfod, PA, March 25, 1949]
