"Among the neighboring farmers, Daniel Crumley ranked well. He was friendly and helping. In case of sickness he was often there to help and to cheer. His father, Christian Krumlich, was one of the first settlers in the county. The original farm was a little over a mile south of the Village. But Daniel, after marriage with a Miss Betzer, of Greenfield Township, and a short residence in Lithopolis, bought a farm adjoining the Bumbarger place."THE VILLAGE. MEMORIES OF LITHOPOLIS", John Bartram Kramer, August 1936, p 38.

"Their children numbered 14, and 9 of them preceded their father to the grave". Those living were Mrs. A. W. Killits of Chicago, Mrs. T. J. Arnold of Lancaster, E. M. Crumley of Springfield, OH, and A. I. Crumley of Lithopolis. His second wife was "Mrs. Buxton" of Licking.

CRUMLEY, DANIEL, farmer, Lithopolis, Ohio; was born December
11, 1807, in Bloom township. Fairfield county, Ohio; son of Christian
and Sarah (Kiser) Crumley, who were born in Union county; Pennsyl-
vania, and came to this township along with its very earliest settlers.
Daniel Crumley was married to Miss Jane Betcer, who was born July
5, 1811, daughter of Peter and Rachel (Ray) Betcer. Their family
consisted of fourteen children, of whom five only are still living. Mr.
Crumley served as Justice of the Peace twelve years in Bloom township,
and has filled the office of trustee at various times. Mr. Crumley has
been intrusted with the settlement of twenty-five different estates in this
and Pickaway counties, which speaks well for him as a man. He has
always run the farm, and at times been engaged in buying stock, and

"Daniel Crumley, late of Blom township, was a son of Christian Crumley. He was born in Bloom township, December 11, 1807. He married Miss Jane Beeten [sic], daughter of Peter Beeten [sic]. She was born July 5, 1811. Their children numbered fourteen and nine of them preceded him to the grave. Those living at the time of his death, November 30, 1891, were Mrs. A. W. Killits of Chicago., IL.; Mrs. T. J. Arnold, Lancaster, Ohio; Mrs. W. H. Stallsmith, Girard, Ohio; E. M. Crumley, Springfield, Ohio, and A. I. Crumley, Lithopolis, Ohio. Daniel Crumley was a very prominent and useful man in his township. He was Justice of the Peace for twelve years, and was for several years a township trustee. He was a very competent administrator on estates, and settled up twenty-five in his life time. His second wife was Mrs. Buxton of the county of Licking.

Mr. Crumley was an uprtight, honorable man, widley known and highly esteemed. He was a brother of Conrad Crumley of Hocking township, and grandfather of Frank Crumley of the Lancaster Gazette." Mrs. Mills was born in Snake Spring Township, the daughter of the late Earl and Mary (Drenning) Foor. She retired from Montgomery Wards in 1992 as a credit clerk.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years Virgil D. MIlls, one son Jeffrey Mills and his wife Johanna and one daughter Yvonne Mills; two grandchildren; Jeremiah Mills and Lucas Mills; one sister Ida Jane Leptic; one brother Timothy Ray Foor and 25 nieces and nephews. She was predeased by her brothers Ned, Marvin, Mason, Norman, Willard, and Earl and sisters Helen, Vada, and Joy, and one late nephew Timothy R. Foor, Jr.
Friends may call at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home, P.A. on Dec 21 from 6-8pm, where funeral services will be held on Dec. 22 at 10:00am.
Interment will be in Harford Memorial Gardens. Contributions may be made to Citizens Care Center, 415 S. Market St., Havre de Grace, MD 21078. [Obit from funeral home website]

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Roof Griffith; sons, Brian (Bonnie) Griffith of Lancaster and Randall (Barbara) Griffith of Erie, Pa.; brothers, Martin of Columbus, Ned (Boots) of Elyria and Don (Jean) Griffith of Canal Winchester; sisters, Doris Barthelmas and Yetive Dudleson, both of Circleville; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. No calling hours will be observed or funeral service held. Funeral arrangements are being completed by the TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, Amanda.
