1915 - GOLDEN MILESTONE is reached by Prosperous Bloom Township Couple, Sunday, Feb 21st. Fiftieth Wedding Anniversaty Celebrated by Happy Family Reunion, Sumotuous Feast Prominent Feature. At their country home one mile east of Greencastle, Mr. and Mrs. George W. RUBLE on Sunday entertained their children and grandchildren in recognition of their 50th wedding anniversary, the occasion was not only a grand success but a very happy one as well. Geo. W. Ruble and Sarah G. Ingman were married at Lancaster February 20, 186[6?] at the residence of Rev. Sparks. They were not affraid to work, so took up their labors with a smile. By the strictest economy and good management they made steady gain in the accumulations of this world's goods. They became prosperous farmers. These good folks, now 79 and 71 years old respectively have proved that plain country life is a good one to live. The family circle has been broken by the death of their oldest daughter, Mrs. Ervin Kiger, who passed away in the year 1900. A lovely three course dinner was served at high noon to which all did justice. The children and grandchildren presented the aged couple with two handsome rocking chairs for their comfort during their leisure hours, also a lovely bouquet of carnations. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Ruble, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ruble, sons George and Marion; Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Kiger and daughters Dora, Cora, Leona, and Arleta, all of Lancaster; Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Ruble and daughter Retha and son Denver. Mr. and Mrs. Felix Ruble all of Greencastle; Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Alspaugh and daughter Dorothy and son Paul of Canal Winchester. Miss Hortense Strode of Columbus. All were presnt but Samuel Ruble and family. All departed wishing to meet on many more happy occasions. [written by] One Who Was There. LANCASTER DAILY EAGLE, Lancaster, Ohio, Feb. 25, 1915.
