[2670] John W. Dowler, owning and operating a well improved farm of one hundred and
twenty-seven acres in Madison township, was born on the 5th of April, 1856, and acquired his education in the schools of Hocking. When seventeen years of age he first beame connected with farming, which he has made his life work, sending his savings home to his father until he had at-rained his majority. He now owns the old Long homestead of one hundred and twenty-seven acres in Madison township and in the careful cultivaion of the fields has gained a measure of prosperity that entitles him to representation among the substantial and enterprising agriculturists of the community. tits success is all the more creditable by reason of the fact that it has been attained entirely through his own well-directed and untiring efforts, for he started out in life empty-handed.

1881 Mr. Dowler was united in marriage to Miss Julia A. Long, whose birth
occurred April 16, 1856. Their children are as follows: Mrs. Jennie L. Foor,

1923 - SAYS FOOR WAS DRUNK - Wounded Man's Brother Probes Wichita Tragedy. Ray Foor Is Said To Have Been Drinking Two Days Before He Shot Policeman. Ray H. Foor [bleached out image] slayer of a Wichita policeman probably was under the influence of liquor when he shot the officer at a dance hall the night before Thanksgiving according to Foor's brother, A. C. Foor of Covington, Ky., who returned last night from Wichita where he investigated the case. It is said Foor had been drinking corn liquor and had been intoxicated nearly two days. A. C. Foor has hired Sam Amidon, of Wichita to handle his brother's case. A. L. Foor, father of Ray Foor, father of Ray Foor, arrived in Emporia last night from his home in Frankfort, Ind., and went directly to the hospital to visit his son. The father visited his son again this afternoon. "I want you to know he was a fine boy and never had been known to drink or gamble", the father said. "He has worked hard and had a good job. I can't understand what was the matter in Wichita but something surely was wrong. I am broken up over it." The young man's father knew nothing of the shooting until he arrived in Emporia. Ray Foor has not been told that his brother investigated the shooting in Wichita. He believes his brother went to Wichita on business for the Mosier Safe and Lock company for which the brothers worked. Ray Foor's condition was improved today and he probably will recover. He is still weak but is gaining strength daily. The Wichita Beacon last night printed the following story about Foor under a Convington, KY., dateline: How a young man of excellent habits and regular attendant at Sunday school and church in his own community all his life could turn desperado in another state is a question which friends of Raymond H. Foor, age 21, are puzzling over. They never were more shocked in their lives than when they read in a local newspaper last Thursday morning that Foor had shot a policeman at Wichita. Foor held a position of great trust with the Mosier Safe and Lock company of Covington, and by his employers he was considered one of the best lock experts in the country, regardless of his youth. No one ever knew Foor to take a drink at home, and none even suspected that he ever did. He went to dances but usually remained in the background. He was self-conscious. He was locked upon as a fine young man with a future. And so it is not to be wondered at that Covington was shocked by the tragedy of which Foor was the central figure in Kansas early Thanksgiving morning. [Emporia Gazette, Dec. 5, 1923, p 1]

Michael Stephen Wegher, 51, joined the angels on March 15, 2004, at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital after a short battle with cancer.

Mike was born Oct. 20, 1952, in Durango, Colo., the second child of five born to Richard and Charlene (Plunkett) Wegher. Mike spent most of his childhood in Durango until he moved with his family to Denver, Colo., where he graduated from John F. Kennedy High School. Soon following, he received a bachelor's degree in business from Denver University.

In 1979, Michael moved again to be with his family in southern California, where he met his wife and soulmate, Anne. They were married on May 25, 1985. Upon marriage, Mike took in Anne's son from a previous marriage. Soon after, they began having children of their own.

In 1992, Mike moved his family to Belgrade. He became actively involved with his sons' baseball leagues as well as the local Boy Scouts. He continued to participate with the Scouts long after his sons did not. His efforts were greatly appreciated. In 1999, Michael and Anne were blessed with a surprise fourth child.

Mike enjoyed hunting and camping with his son, gardening, fishing and all types of music. He was never seen without a smile on his face and was blessed with the great ability to make anybody he encountered laugh.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlene (Plunkett) Wegher.

Mike is survived by his wife of 19 years, Anne; his daughters, Audrey Michelle, 17, and Emily Nicole, 5; and sons, Beau Thomas Foor, 23, and Tim Allen, 16, all of Belgrade. He is also survived by his father, Robert Wegher, of Moorpark, Calif.; his siblings, Pat (Tim) Kennedy of Greeley, Colo.; Jim (Kate) Wegher of Littleton, Colo.; Barbara (Seth) Wegher-Thompson of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; and Charlie (Jean) Wegher of Augora, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

Mike's laughter will forever echo in the hearts and minds of the many lives he has touched.

Michael's family would like to give a special thank you to the Bozeman Cancer Center, Bozeman Deaconess Hospital, Hospice, Mountain View Rest Home, and everyone else who has comforted our family during the trying months of Mike's illness.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at the Church of Christ in Belgrade. Memorials may be made to Bozeman Deaconess Hospice or to the Cancer Treatment Center, 931 Highland Blvd., Suite 3200, Bozeman 59715.
