Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the MYERS WOODYARD FUNERAL HOME, 587 Main St. in Groveport, where the funeral service will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Doctor William L. OBIT: Wendell L. Conkle, 91, of Dogwood Lane, Mt. Gilead, Ohio died Thursday morning, November 22, 2001, in the Morrow County Hospital ECF.

He was born in Madison Twp., Franklin County on September 1, 1910, the son of the late Harry A. and Clara M. Boyd Conkle. He resided in Lancaster prior to returning to Mt. Gilead in 1975. He was a lifelong farmer until retiring. He was a member of the Mt. Gilead Southern Baptist Church and a former member of the Morrow County Farm Bureau.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Darryl L. and Nancy Conkle of Canal Winchester, OH; a brother H. Dwight Conkle of Mt. Gilead, OH; a sister Myrtle L. Franks of Mt. Gilead, OH; nieces and nephews.

His wife Mary E. Goodman Conkle, whom he married March 2, 1935, preceded him in death on Dec. 4, 1997. He was also preceded in death by two brothers Sherman and Ray Conkle, and two sisters Ruth I. Rush and Mary K. Conkle.

Friends may call at the Craven Funeral Home in Mt. Gilead on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Rev. Lawrence Combs will hold funeral services there Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Rivercliff Cemetery in Mt. Gilead. Memorial contributions can be made to the Mt. Gilead Southern Baptist Church. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.snyderfuneralhomes.com.

Her parents were in the Bloom Twp., Fairfield Co., Ohio census in 1850, and Greenfield twp., same county, in 1860.

Mrs. Williamson is survived by her husband, Everett; three sons, Myril, Alvin and Carl; two daughters, Phyllis and Norma, all of the home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G.C. Foor, of Pataskala; two brothers, Clarence and James Foor, both of Pataskala; and five sisters, Mrs. Bertha Jordan, Mrs. Dorothy Stratton, Mrs. Frieda Lowe, Mrs. Betty Lester and Mrs. Mary Shaw.

The ceremony was impressively performed by Rev. Joseph Hoskins in the presence of a few close friends of the couple. Accompanying them were Miss Madge West, Miss Mary Reisser, Miss Mary Uible, of Hillsboro, Misses Elsie and Edna Fridley and Howard Fridley of Lithopolis, and Melvin Weeks, of Columbus. The bride, a very attractive girl, wore for her wedding a dusty blue afternoon gown, with a corsage of white gardenias. She graduated from the McClain High School and for the past five years has been the efficient bookkeeper with the Inter-County Rural Electrification Co. Mr. Randles graduated from the Grove Port High School and is an engineer with the Putnam & Woolpert Engineering Co. of Dayton, with headquarters at Linden, Ind. OBIT: Floyd Randles, 39, former resident of this community, died Tuesday at 8 p.m. at University Hospital in Columbus where he had been confined for 5 weeks. He had been ill for the past three years with Hodgkin's disease. His home was in Lithopolis, O. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Lithopolis, with burial in the cemetery there. He was a native of Lithopolis. He worked in this area in the 1930's staking out the lines for the REA when it was established. While working here, he met and married the former Helen West who survives, along with two children, Karol Kay and Diane, at home. One son preceded him in death. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Harry Randles, and two brothers, Lloyd (a twin), and Frank, all of Lithopolis. He had worked at the North American plant in Columbus before his illness.
