LOCATION: 1942 - name listed as Ellis Coy Foor of R. D. 2 Everett, Bedford Co., PA, born in Bedford Co., PA on Oct. 14, 1893, now age 48. Employed by Bedford and Fulton Christian Conference. Blue eyes, gray hair, ruddy complexion, 5' 11" tall, 170 pounds. U.S. World War II Draft Registration Cards, 1942 [database online]. Provo, Utah: MyFamily.com, Inc., 2006.

LOCATION: 1950 - Rev. Coy Foor, supply pastor of the Breezewood Church of the Brethren, and his wife were forced to flee from their home early Monday morning when it was destroyed by fire. Rev. Foor told American Red Cross officials in Bedford that the furnace blew up and set fire to his home before he could get his clothes on, forcing him to escape in scanty attire. His wife, who has been bedfast for 8 weeks, was removed from the burning home by neighbors. The blast set fire to the home so quickly that nothing could be saved. It was learned that Rev. Foor recently had rented the home. Rev. Foor and his wife are being cared for by a daughter and the Bedford County chapter of the Red Cross is providing them with food and clothing and aiding in procuring a new home. [Bedford Gazette, Bedford, PA, Feb. 3, 1950]

LOCATION: 1950 - Fire Razes Foor Home at Breezewood - Fire destroyed the home of Rev. and Mrs. Coy Foor near Breezewood Monday morning, January 30, the couple barely escaping with their lives. Mrs. Foor, who has been ill for the past 15 months, was carried from the burning building by her husband. The fire resulted when a large 5-room oil heater exploded. When Rev. Foor, who was awakened by the explosion and fumes, opened the bedroom door to investigate, the smoke came rolling in and within a few seconds the entire building seemed to burst into flames. Seeing that he had no time to dress, he wrapped his wife in a blanket and carried her to safety. Mrs. Foor has been bedridden most of the time during her illness. According to Rev. Foor the flames fed by the fuel spread by the exploding heater seemed to burst out all over the building. Had he and Mrs. Foor delayed two minutes longer in leaving the house they would not have been able to make their way to safety. Later, Rev. and Mrs. Foor were taken to the home of their daughter, Mrs. Cloyd Foor, where they will reside until they can make arrangements for another home. The house in which the Foors resided was owned by Garret Burns. Both Mr. Burns' loss and that of Rev. and Mrs. Foor was partially covered by insurance. The Breezewood Fire company responded promptly to the alarm. However, the flames spread so rapidly the firemen could do little to save the structure. [Bedford Gazette, Bedford, PA, Feb. 10, 1950]

LOCATION: 1950 - A lovely kitchen shower was held last Friday evening in the Breezewood Fire Hall for Rev. and Mrs. Coy Foor whose home was destroyed by fire Jan. 30. - a long list of guests is included in article. [Bedford Gazette, Bedford, PA, March 10, 1950]

LOCATION: 1953 "Arthur Kerlen of Three Springs, Mrs. George L. Foor and Clair Foor called at the Rev. Coy Foor home Wednesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Cober, of Somerset, spent Wednesday night in the same home." [Bedford Gazette, Bedford, PA, Dec. 29, 1953]
