Columbus Dispatch, Columbus, Ohio, June 6, 2009
"Police and Franklin County Coroner Jan Gorniak said a final ruling on the manner of deaths of Joseph Arrington, 37, and Jessica Foor, 21, is pending further investigation and test results. Initial findings indicate that both victims committed suicide, probably early on Thursday.
"As of right now, that's what we're classifying it," said detective Jay Fulton of the Columbus police homicide squad.
Autopsies conducted yesterday revealed that Foor died of a single stab wound to the upper body, and Arrington of a gunshot wound to the head, Gorniak said.
Fulton said a relative who had gone to the condominium at 2579 Sandbury Blvd. became worried something was amiss and called police shortly before noon Thursday.
The victims were found in bed in their separate bedrooms, Fulton said.
Arrington lived with Foor at the condo, but the two weren't romantically involved, police said. Arrington once dated Foor's mother and was a father figure to the younger woman, Fulton said.
Relatives told police that Foor had a history of substance abuse, as well as self-destructive and self-injuring behavior, Fulton said. A lengthy note left by Arrington detailed what had occurred and explained that he felt he had failed Foor."

Cemetery inscription page for said cemetery lists the inscription as "Foor Imogene E _ born September 6 1922 died July 11 1921 2 names Max n Jun 28 1942 _ South Park Annex-B-59-1". I think the "2 names" refers to two names on one stone, as husband Max's says the same thing. Notice that this death date shown here is BEFORE she was born. Obvious error.

Pioneers.-Philip Cramer and family were the first settlers of Union Township. He was a native of Pennsylvania, and settled at an early day in Fairfield County, Ohio. Here his first wife died, and he married Katharine Harmon, also a native of the Keystone State. In October, 1830, Mr. Cramer visited Hancock County, and entered the east half of Section 1, Township 1 south, Range 9, also the east half of the northwest quarter of the same section, and the following month the family came from Fairfield County and located permanently on the Tiderishi Creek. His sons, John, Philip and Simon, and daughter, Christina, wife of Henry Smaltz, were the children of his first marriage. All were full grown, and some of them married before coming to Hancock. Mr. Smaltz built his cabin in the southeast quarter of Section 1, where he died in 1836. John Cramer was the first justice of Union Township, and died in 1843: Philip, Jr. , died in 1850, and Simon was killed by lightning in 1851; while Christina also passed away many ,years ago. His second wife, Catharine, bore him seven children, viz. : Adam, Daniel, Jacob, Sarah, Rachel, Margaret and Phoebe. She died January 10, 1853, Mr. Cramer surviving her till April 13, 1867, and dying at the ripe old age of nearly eighty-five years. In 1832 Mr. Cramer built a horse-mill on his farm, and though a primitive affair, it was nevertheless in use for several years, and did considerable grinding for the neighborhood. Mr. Cramer was the pioneer minister of the United Brethren Church in Hancock County, and the first society of that denomination was organized at his cabin. He was always earnest and zealous in the cause, and left the impress of his calling and character upon the community in which he lived. His sons, Daniel and Jacob, now own the land whereon his life in this county was so profitably spent." "HISTORY OF HANCOCK COUNTY, OHIO", Warner, Beers & CO., 1886, pp 486-487.

OBIT: Killed Last Evening By Shotgun Wound at His Home - Alleged to have been driven to the act by domestic trouble, Thos. D. Parrish, 43, of 630 Garfield avenue, turned a shotgun on himself last evening shortly after 5:30 o'clock and inflicted wounds that caused his death three hours later in the Lancaster Hospital. Mr. Parrish, an employee of the Fairfield Grease and Oil Co., is said to have threatened several times before to commit suicide and it was reported he was about to attempt shooting himself Tuesday night when he was prevented by one of his sons. Alone in the house, except for his younger son, Dwight, who was on the floor above him, Mr. Parrish shot himself in the left groin, tearing his side open and inflicting fatal wounds in the bowels. He had apparently pointed the barrel of the gun toward his heart but it had slipped down as he tried. The youth summoned Dr. Mondhank and the dying man, still concious, was rushed to Lancaster hospital in the Smith ambulance. On the way he begged the physician to give him something to put him to sleep and take him out of his misery. Upon reaching the hospital Parrish was immediately placed under anesthetic and an attempt made to save his life, but he died upon the operating table. Surviving are the widow, three sons, Thomas Dwight, Carl and Herman, all of the home, the deceased parents, Mr. and Mrs. Zachary Parrish of near Royalton, a sister, Mrs. George Compton of Rock Mill and four brothers, Earl of Pleasantville, William of Canal Winchester, Hugh of Columbus and Frank of Groveport. Private funeral services will be held Friday... burial will be made in Forest Rose Cem. [Lancaster Eagle Gazette, Lancaster, Ohio, Dec. 15, 1927]

POD/POB/POD: From John D. FOOR via email, who was in correspondence with the Union Grove cemetery.
DOD/POD: Ohio Historical Society's online death index. V 3267, Cert. 29439.
OBIT: 22 Apr 1920 issue of THE TIMES, Canal Winchester, Ohio weekly.
Sarah Foor one of Canal Winchesters oldest and most highly esteemed citizens was born March 29, 1838, and died April 11, 1920, aged 82 years and 12 days.
She was the daughter of Reuben and Susanna Trine, born in Pennsylvania, but came to Canal Winchester when six months of age.
On January 24, 1858 she was united in marriage with Sylvester Foor. This union was blessed with twelve children, nine of whom are living. Those living are Mrs. Mary Boyd, of Canal Winchester; William, of Greensboro, North Carolina; Mrs. Emma Williams, of Columbus; Charley, of Spartansburg, South Carolina; Chester, of Petersburg, Virginia; Mrs. Dorothy Badger, of Groveport; Mrs. Daniel Alspach, of Canal Winchester; Edward, of Cleveland; Hearl, of Canal Winchester. Her husband and three children preceded her in death. Her husband having died in 1881, Franklin in 1914, Daniel in 1907, and Julietta in infancy.
Two sisters are living, Mrs. Eliza Clewell of Sycamore, Ohio, and Miss Julia Trine of Canal Winchester, also by twenty-five grandchildren.
In 1873 Mrs. Foor joined the United Brethren Church, and died in the faith in which she lived for so many years. Those who knew her best testify to her many virtues.
When her husband died she was left alone with a large family of children. She raised her family and kept them together by her ceaseless industry and toil. No labor was too hard, no self-sacrifice too great, that she might be of service to those about her.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother, a kind neighbor, and will be missed in the community in which she lived, and in the church, but most of all in the home where she manifested such tender love and solicitude for her children; but this love was graciously returned by them.
Mrs. Foor has been a great sufferer, for a little over two years ago she fell and broke her hip. During those years she was tenderly cared for. All that could be done to give her relief was done, until she was relieved of her sufferings.
She was a patient sufferer, and did not murmur or complain but was cheerful and resigned to the will of her Father in Heaven. There is no face in the world for good like that of a good mother.
Her influence abides with us through the years that come and go. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
The funeral was held Tuesday, April 13, at 1:30 PM at the home of her daughter Mrs. Daniel Alspach. Earl Hunter of Columbus sang two beautiful solos. The funeral Services were conducted by Rev. N.W. Burtner, her pastor, assisted by Rev. O.C. Wright. Burial was made in Union Grove Cemetery.
