Donna C. Williams Richter, 75, of Elgin passed away Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Kindred Hospital in Sycamore. She was born September 30, 1932 in Chicago the daughter of David and Mabel (Foor) Battle.

She is survived by her children, Charles "Mike" Williams of CO and Jonathan Williams of Elgin; two step-sons; and four step-daughters; a brother, Philip (Mary) Battle; and sister, Marilynn (Floyd) Heppner.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Charles Williams; second husband, Edward Richter; sisters, Nancy Johnson and Helen E. Battle; brother, Eugene Battle.

Funeral services will be private. Wait Ross Allanson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel, 51 Center St., Elgin is in charge of arrangements.

OBIT: DENTON Chester Ray Denton, age 80, of Baltimore, a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at the Etna United Methodist Church, 500 Pike Street SW, with Pastor Chip Cook and Pastor Jeremy Shank officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkersville Cemetery. Mr. Denton died June 17, 2006 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. He was born September 1, 1925, in Lithopolis, Ohio to the late Tracy and Ethel (Englehart) Denton. Mr. Denton retired from the Rockwell Corp. after 35 years of service where he had worked in the shipping department. He was a farmer and was very involved in the FFA Alumni at Canal Winchester. He was a member of the Etna United Methodist Church. He is survived by four daughters, Cynthia (Jerry) Preece of Baltimore, Judith (Mark) Berry of Pataskala, Lori Hawk of Baltimore and Melissa (Douglas) Denison of Pataskala; six grandchildren, Wendi, Amanda, Christopher, Marshall, Lexi and Lauren; a great-granddaughter, Abbie; special aunt, Ethyl Englehart of Kirkersville; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and many close friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Mary M. (Davis) Denton on November 24, 2004, and by a son Larry A. Denton, and a sister Nellie Monroe. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at the KIRKERSVILLE CHAPEL OF HENDERSON-VAN ATTA FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICE, 285 East Main Street, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday, June 21, 2006. LOCATION: 1909 - The first contributions to The Star Santa Claus Fund for
1909 were received several weeks before formal announcement of the plans for
this year was made. Master Morris Foor, aged 6 years, and his brother sent
27 cents on Nov. 10, about a week later Ruth Hardin, 1240 Cornell avenue,
sent $1. [fund is for the less fortunate]. Morris and Francis Foor asked
their mama to allow them to withdraw a few pennies from their little account
in a trust company to give to Santa Claus to start his fund. Morris gave one
penny for each year he is old, and "one to grow on" making seven. Francis,
who was eleven on March 19, saide he would give 19 pennies and "one to grow

LANCASTER: Mary Ellen Briggs, 88 of Lancaster, passed away Monday, October 19, 2009 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. She was born April 25, 1921 at St. Clairsville, Ohio, to Frank and Clara (Yost) Frazier. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Jane Briggs, Lancaster; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Steven Poole, Lithopolis; grandchildren, Matthew (Mary Ellen) Poole and Julia (Steven) Begala; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry C. Briggs; son, Henry Carson Briggs; and her parents; brother, Robert Y. Frazier; sister, Elizabeth Joan Frazier.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home with Dr. Richard G. Riedel officiating. Burial will be at Lithopolis Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

LANCASTER: Mary Ellen (Frazier) Briggs, 88, fondly known as "Mema," was a long-time resident of Lancaster, Ohio. She slipped from our world following a brief illness on October 19, 2009. She was born on April 25, 1921, in St. Clairsville, Ohio, to Frank and Clara (Yost) Frazier. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, both in St. Clairsville and in Lancaster.




After graduating from Carnegie Tech in Pittsburgh, PA, she joined the war effort by working for the U.S. War Department at the U.S. Naval Air Station in Miami, Florida. After the war she worked in a congressional office in Washington, D.C. She loved to travel, exploring new adventures worldwide. She married Henry C. Briggs, Sr., on June 19, 1955, and she lived a full life, filled with family, volunteering, and playing bridge.
Moving to Lancaster in 1964, she volunteered her time and talents to many organizations. She was a Girl Scout Leader, PTA mom, Red Cross Volunteer, FISH transporter, and gave more than 1500 hours as a Lancaster Hospital Twig volunteer. For years, she worked the elections serving as either a poll worker or presiding judge for her precinct.
She was a member of the Lancaster Mother's League, Lancaster's La Sertoma, Lancaster Hospital's Twig # 7 and a life-long member of the Delta Gamma Sorority.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Steven Poole, Lithopolis; son and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Jane Briggs, Lancaster; grandchildren, Matthew (Mary Ellen) Poole, Chicago; Julia (Steven) Begala, San Diego; a new great grandson, Benjamin Briggs Poole; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Henry C. Briggs Sr.; son, H. Carson Briggs, Jr.; parents; brother, Robert Y. Frazier; and sister, Elizabeth Joan Frazier.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2009, at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home with Dr. Richard G. Riedel officiating. Her urn will be interred at the Lithopolis Cemetery following the service. A luncheon will then be held at the First Presbyterian Church. Friends and family may call Saturday, November 14, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

OBIT: News-Sentinel, Rochester, Indiana, Friday, May 6, 1960

Samuel H. MUSSELMAN, former president and cashier of the Macy Citizens Bank, died at 1 a.m. today in his home at Macy. He was 90 years aold. Death came after a six-month illness.
Mr. Musselman served as cashier and president of the bank from 1908 until 1938. Before that, he had taught school and farmed. He was a member of F. & A. M. 523 of Macy, Knights of Pythias of Akron and the Macy Methodist church.
Born April 3, 1870 in Chili, he was the son of William and Susanna KEIM MUSSELMAN. He was married in 1895 to Nellie SWIFT, who died in 1954. His second marriage was in 1958 to [Flora M.] ARTER, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Oren [MUSSELMAN], Macy; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Harvey [MUSSELMAN], Hartford City. One daughter preceded him in death.
Last rites will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Macy Methodist church with the Rev. Richard SUMNER officiating. Burial will be in the Macy cemetery. Friends may call at the Tom Haupert funeral home in Akron after 2 p.m. Saturday until Sunday noon at the church from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday

Fornash, his father, Grant (Maxie) Powers of Salyersville, KY, several nieces, nephews, and loving family members.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jo Ann "Jodi" Blanton Powers (September 22, 2005), son David Ray Powers, mother Imogene Blanton Powers, and his brother Rev. Rick Powers.
Friends may visit 5-8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, 550 Hill Road North, Pickerington, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Paul Collins officiating. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Kensinger, at whose home she died and Mrs. Fay Duvall of Crystal Springs; five grandchildren; one brother, John Whitfield of Everett R.D.; three sisters, Mrs. Susan Hann, of Everett R.D.; Mrs. Lena Pee, of Breezewood, Mrs. Charity Layton of Breezewood R.D. She was a member of the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 4, at 2 p.m. at the Union Memorial Church with Rev. Lewis Crouse officiating. HENRY J. WILSON, 82, of Canal Winchester, died Friday in Mt. Carmel East
Hospital, Columbus. Retired from Columbus and Southern Ohio Electric, he is
survived by his wife, Mabel; two daughters, Lucille Plummer, Carroll and
Dorothy Watkins, Hillsboro, Oh ; five grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren;
four brothers, Ralph, Canal Winchester, John Lithopolis, Herbert, Lockbourne
and William, Westerville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will
be Tuesday 2 pm in the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, Canal Winchester; Rev.
Raymond Dunlap officiating; burial in Lithopolis Cemetery. Friends may call
today 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the funeral home. (From the Lancaster Eagle Gazette
