Windsor Gazette, Windsor, IL 12/10/1896 P1, C3
Obit - Mrs. Cynthia Rice Barnhart, wife of Valentine Barnhart, died Saturday morning at the family residence northeast of Windsor. Funeral and burial services were held at Ash Grove church Sunday. Rev. H. N. Gowan, pastor of Bruce M.E. church, had charge of the services. Mrs. Barnhart had long been a sufferer from dropsy and kindred diseases and her death was not altogether unexpected. She was a true christian, a loving wife and mother and a good friend and neighbor. She was a native of Ohio but settled with her family in this country where she and her husband have since resided. Besides her companion of many years she leaves three grown and married sons, viz., Henry, John and Thomas.

Oscar Wernert married an Ada Davis 22 Nov 1874 Fairfield Co., OH.
NOTE: in wife's obit, it says Oscar died in 1933. There is no stone for him in Betzer Cemetery. My assumption is that he's buried by first wife, whoever that is, as in wife Alice's 1956 obituary it mentions surviving step children. Later: According to death certificate he was born in Union Grove. Also, his second wife was the informant for the certificate, and she states that he and both of his parents were born in Pottsville, PA. Census records don't agree with those states and places of birth.
