"Michael Bradley, son of John and Joanna (Fitzgerald) Bradley was born 1 January 1816, calculated from the inscription on his tombstone. It is quite likely that he was born in Pickaway County, Ohio, as was his brother Henry. Michael Bradley married Leah Glick, daughter of Philip and Lydia (___) Glick of Fairfield Co., Amanda Twp., 8 Aug 1839, the ceremony being performed by Reverand J. Wagenholtz. Leah, born about 1822 in Fairfield Co., was a sister of the Mary Glick who married Michael's brother Henry. In the early 1840's Michael and Leah Bradley migrated to Miami County, Indiana, settling in Butler Township. Their first dwelling was small (their daughter Mary Kissman told me it was a cabin). Later additional land was bought and a large house was built, which members of the Bradley family referred to as the "Bradley homestead". It stood on a rise in the the ground on the south side of County Road 255 about a mile and a quarter south of the Wabash River and not far from the Wabash county line.
About 1852 Michael Bradley went back to Ohio and brought his parents, John and Joanna bradley, out to Indiana. This information was given to me independently by each of two grandaughters of John and Joanna, Jennie Swisher in Ohio and Mary Kissman in Indiana, neither of whom knew one another. According to the family lore, John and Joanna spent their last years on Michael Bradley's property, living in a separate house until John died, after which Joanna was brought to live in the big house until her death in 1864. According to Mary Kissman, Michael Bradley was a kind father and a good neighbor. He was a Lutheran, a Democrat and at one time served as "civil paymaster to the Miami Indians." Mary said that her mother Leah could read German. Michael Bradley died 8 September 1874. His wife Leah survived him for many years, not dying until 17 August 1908. Both were buried in the Clayton Cemetery. Michael and Leah had at least 12 children, Louisa, Nathaniel, Ellen, Henry, Lydia, John M., Mary, Eli, Philip, Leah, Michael and Sarah Bradley. The first two of which were most certainly born in Ohio and the rest in Indiana.

NOTE: After further research I have found that this man's name is actually MOORE and that the obituary obviously was in error.
OBIT: Ohio City - George L. Foore, 49, a lifetime resident of Ohio City, died at 6:20 a.m. Sunday in Van Wert County Hospital. Born Nov. 28, 1913 in Ohio City, he was the son of George and Emma R. (Baltzell) Foore. He was married in 1936, and his widow, Emily, survives. Also surviving are a son, Norman of Ohio City; a daughter, Mrs. William E. (Joan) Lloyd of Delphos; three brothers, Hazen of Decatur, IN., Marcus of Convoy, and Dennis of Akron; a sister Mrs. Helen Giles of St. James City, Fla., and three grandchildren. He was a realtor and insurance agent and a member of the Ohio City Methodist Church, Eureka Lodge 592 of Ohio City and Hyler Chapter 432 of the OES. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite of Toledo, IOOF, Wide Awake Lodge 771, the Ohio Association of Independent Insurance Agents and National Board of Realtors. He had served on the board of education, board of public affairs, Democratic central committee of Van Wert County, and the Democratic national committee in Washington, D. C. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the church, with Rev. E. E. WElls and Rev. Ellis Lloyd of Delphos officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City. Friends may call at the Cowan and Sun Funeral Home in Van Wert after 7 p.m. today. Masonic services will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. [Lima News, Lima, Ohio, January 14, 1963]
NOTE: This is an obvious error. His name is really George L. MOORE and he can be found in the Liberty Twp., Van Wert Co., Ohio, 1910 census. I'm leaving this individual in the database in case I, or someone else, finds this obituary and tires to find out who he's connected to.

"William Zaayer.-Numbered among the industrious and prosperous agriculturists of Sullivan county is William Zaayer, who is actively engaged in his pleasant and independent calling in Cass township, having the management of the parental homestead, which is one of the best and most desirable pieces of property in the neighborhood. A native of Sullivan county, he was born in Haddon township, where his father, Rufus Zaayer, was a pioneer settler. He is the descendant of a soldier of the Revolutionary war, and comes of German ancestry, his great-grandfather, Thomas Zaayer, having emigrated from Germany, his native land, to America in colonial days, afterwards serving under General Washington in the great struggle for American independence. He subsequently lived for a while in Pennsylvania, but from there moved to Ohio, where he spent the remainder of his eighty-one years of earthly life, residing in either Fairfield or Pickaway counties. He reared two sons and one daughter. The daughter married a Mr. Dumm; his son Jacob never left Pennsylvania; his son Joseph was the grandfather of William.
A native of Berks county, Pennsylvania, Joseph Zaayer migrated to Ohio when young, settling in Pickaway county. He had previously learned the tailor's trade, but after his marriage he located on a tract of timbered land given him by his father in Adams township, that county, and thereafter devoted his energies to clearing and improving a homestead. In common with the other pioneers of the place, he raised flax, kept sheep, and labored with earnest toil to clear the land and cultivate the soil, while his good wife, skilled in the domestic arts, carded, spun and wove the homespun in which she clothed the family. He erected a comfortable set of log buildings, and was there a resident until his death, at the age of sixty-eight years. He married Maria Dunkle, a native of Berks county, Pennsylvania, whose father was born on the ocean while his parents were on their way from Germany to this country. She survived her husband, dying on the home farm in Adams township, Ohio, at the age of eighty-one years. She reared thirteen children, as follows: Levi, Colton, William, Leah, John, Seth, Samuel, Rufus, Benjamin, Joseph, Enos, Mary and Daniel."
