No Bertha Anders shows up in the 1900 census index for Ohio. No Bertha Anders is listed in the 1930 census index that's born in Ohio. No Violet Anders shows up in the 1930 census that meets her description.

There is no documentation to back up this data that Bertha lived with an ANDERS family, or that she changed her name to ANDERS. Supposedly she lived with an ANDERS family... (WHERE?), and died in 1955 (WHERE?).

History of Caldwell and Livingston County, Missouri; St. Louis: National
Historical Co.; 1886; p 747. [info supplied by an individual via email from a look-up service, and she writes/quotes the following] "The Case of Rev. J. E. Gardner" "One of the 20 men who voted for Lincoln in Livingston county, at the Presidential election in 1860 was Rev. J. E. Gardner, a minister of the M. E. Church, who some time previously had been sent into this county, and who had located at Utica. "Northern Methodists" as they are sometimes called, were few in number and in bad odor at that day in Missouri...A few weeks after the election he was presented with the following: December 20, 1860. Mr. Gardner--Sir:--At a meeting of the citizens of Livingston Co, MO, it was unanimously resolved that notice be given you that your longer residence in our county is not desired by our citizens and that you be required to leave this county within three days from this date. (signed) by 37 men, including J. F. Foor and G. P. Foor. "It is worthy of note that some of the signers afterwards became themsleves strong anti-slavery men, and were regarded as truly loyal during the Civil War."
Other meetings were held and eventually violence broke out with Rev. G.
being beaten and "rail-ridden" with a resultant discussion of lawsuit by him
against the mob. No further conclusion listed in the book, and no mention
of individual names.

1880 - Walla Walla May 24 - Today G. P. Foor a well known citizen here engaged in the boot and shoe business shot himself through the head the bullet going clear through. H still lives but recover is impossible. [Morning Oregonian, Portland, OR., May 25, 1880]

1880 - The following additional portions are of the suicide of G. P. Foor at Walla Walla last Monday have been received. For some time Mr. Foor had been suffering from ill health and despondency and had returned to his home as normal at noon on the fatal day. He threw himself on the bed, telling his wife he was not feeling well, and asking her to go to the kitchen on some trivial errand. While there, Mrs. Foor heard the report of a revolver and hastening to the beside of her husband found he had shot himself through the head. He must have risen up in bed, placed the revolver to his right temple and fired the ball having passed horizontally through the brain. Dr. Alban was immediately called but could do nothing but alleviate some of the pain, the unfortunate man being beyond recovery. [Morning Oregonian, Portand, OR., May 31, 1880]
