"Some useful information you might want on Anna Ione Allspach. She was a
schoolteacher for years preceding her marriage. She taught at Prentiss
School on Gender road, also known as Madison Twp. School No. 8.. I know
she taught during the years of 1914 through 1918 because I have my
father's signed report cards. I do know she taught longer than that. The
school souvenir folder for the year 1918 also lists the school board
members and the other students in the school for that year. If you want
that information just let me know and I will email it to you.

She married Lester C. Teegardin in 1939. He was born June 1883 and died
in 1959. When she died in 1995 she was residing at a church home in Upper

INDEX

[12709] NAME/DOB/DOD/POB/POD/SPOUSE: FTM website of Lon Kenneth David Guthrie, Russell Lea, New South Wales.

"R. T. Gregg represents the third generation engaged in the distribution of dry goods. In 1810, Samuel Gregg, grandfather of R. T., engaged in the retailing and jobbing of dry goods in Pennsylvania. His chief business was buying manufacturers' products in the New England states and trading for raw cotton in the south. He was followed by Thomas Gregg, father of R. T., who had a store in Lithopolis, Ohio, and later in Baltimore, Ohio. One of the most cherished possessions of the pioneer Lima merchant is a pair of saddle bags used by his father in riding horseback from Ohio to the wholesale markets to buy merchandise for his store. Because of lack of transportation facilities, he was compelled to ride his horse to the markets and then wait for the tedious and uncertain delivery of his goods by canal, river and wagon. Thomas Gregg was forced to retire from business because of ill health in his late 70's." [The Lima News, Lima, Ohio, Dec. 26, 1935]

OBIT: Robert Thomas Gregg, 80, pioneer merchant of Lima, died at 3 a.m. Monday at his residence, 418 S. Cole St., after an illness of three weeks. Proprietor of the R. T. Gregg and Co., N. Main-st, the veteran mertchant had been in business in Lima since 1900, when he opened the store at it's present location. He had previously operated a store in Tiffin and at one time was associated with the Hansberger Brothers store in Baltimore, O. Gregg was born on Dec. 4, 1861 in Lithopolis, Fairfield-co., the son of a dry goods store proprietor. He represented the third generation of his family to become associated in the distribution of dry goods. His grandfather had opened a dry goods jobbery in Pennsylvania in 1810. The pioneer merchant married Emma Beery, who survives him, near Lancaster in 1887, and moved to Tiffin, where he remained for 12 years before moting to Lima. His interests in Lima were in philanthropic and religious activities and the development of Lima. He was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian church and served as an officer for more than 50 years. At the time of his death he was a member of the board of elders. Gregg also served for 25 years as director of the Union Savings and Loan Co. He is survived by his wife; a son, Roy B., of 402 S. Woodlawn-av., a daughter, Mrs. Allan P. Ha?ter of 1711 Lakewood-av, and a brother, Noah C. Gregg, of Wilmington, DE. Another son, Robert T. Gregg, Jr., died May 25, 1931 from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Mrs. Frank C. Love of Pittsburgh, Carolyn and Robert Gregg of Hollywood, Calif.; Robert P., James and Margaret Jane Harter; Thomas, Natalie and Priscilla Gregg, all of Lima. The body will be removed Monday afternoon from the Davis, Miller and Son funeral home to the residence, 418 S. Cole-st to remain for services at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Dr. Cornelius Nicholas Bakker and Rev. Otis Harter, Presbyterian pastors, will conduct the last rites and burial will be in Woodlawn Cem. The store will be closed all day Tuesday and until 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, following the funeral services, store officials announced Monday. [Lima News, Lima, Ohio, May 11, 1942].
