The following is from George Krueger, Feb. 2008 emails:
"I am doing research on my family and have been able to trace them back to living on a farm outside of Lockville in Fairfeild county. My grandfather was David Christian Krueger, his wife was Anna Regina (Beckman) Krueger and children were Augusta Maria, Caroline Louise, and Carl Frederick William. They arrived in Lockville, Ohio in 1863 from Prussia and lived for a short time with David's sister Mary (Krueger), I do not know the last name. David did farmwork for an Andrews family and later a farmer named Crumley who later allowed him to sharecrop on the farm. Family members also worked for a Mithoff family that owned a distillery in Lancaster. I have found the mother and children listed in the 1870 Bloom Township census spelled Keiger and the 1880 Amanda Township census spelled Kruger. I believe that David died from over working in flooded farm fields in the late 1860's and would be b uried in Fairfield cnty somewhere close to Lockville. I know that Augusta married a Levi Oman in 1884 in Columbus and moved to Kansas. The rest of family moved to Ks in the 80's.
"I do know a little more about the family. They arrived from Prussia on the ship Deutschland on the 2nd of Nov. 1863. Father was David Christian Krueger, b. in 1820, his wife Anna Regina (Beckman) Krueger b. Sept. 2, 1820, 2 daughters, Augusta and Caroline, born respectively in 1848 & 1850, and a son William, born in 1855. I know that they came to Lockville as David had a married sister who had immigrated to Lockville a few years before. I do not know her married name. I also know that David's brother came to the U.S. a few years later but they never made contact in the U.S.
I have found the burial places of the mother and all 3 children, all in Kansas, just haven't been able to locate David."

LOCATION: 1929 - $5000 Asked in Love Suit. Lithopolis Man Charges Woman With
Alienating His Wife's Affection. Chester Oyler of Lithopolis instituted suit
in the Fairfield county Common Pleas court Monday against Jennie Kieckle,
also of that village, for damages in the sum of $5,000 charging her with
defrauding him of his wife's (Ruth Oyler) affection, society and services.
The petition alleges that at various times between June 1st, 1928 and October
27th, the defendant maliciously persuaded his wife to take up residence with
her which she did on October 1928. The plantiff charges that she left his
home contrary to and against his desires. The petition further alleges that
his wife has remained with Jennie Kieckle ever since the said date of leaving
the plaintiff. Wherefore, due to the loss of the affection of his wife, her
society and services, suffering of mind and body, he has been put to shame
and dishonor and damaged in the sum of $5000 for which he asks judgment and
costs of the suit. G. C. Raver is the attorney for Chester Oyler.

"Mrs. Catharine M. Guseman, widow of the late Jacob Guseman, is the oldest living resident of Lancaster. Her maiden name was Catharine M. Pfifer; her father's name was Jacob Pfifer. She was born in Pittsburg, PA., Dec. 18, 1801. Her father moved from Pittsburg to Huntington, PA. In 1806 he emigrated to Fairfield County, Ohio, and settled one mile west of Lancaster. While living here she remembers going to town with her mother to trade with Rudolph Pitcher, who kept a store and a tavern in the same building on Main Street. She was often with her mother gathered wild plums, in a thicket, on the ground where now stand the store buildings of Christion Keller and E. H. Binninger. When Catharine was eighteen years of age her father moved to Lithopolis and operated a tannery. She came to Lancaster and has ever since resided here, a period of seventy-eight years." "Joseph Rawn...was a native of Berks County, Pennsylvania, whence he emigrated when a young man to Fairfield County, Ohio. Here he met and married Miss Mary Fisher, making his home in that county during the remainder of his life and rearing his family on his farm. He was not a large man, weighing only about one hundred and forty-five pounds, while his measure would probably reach five feet, six inches. He was a Republican in politics and in religion a devout member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, whose earnest endeavor it was to pattern his life by its teachings. He was in his seventy-first year when the final summons came to him at his Ohio home, in January 1883. He was laid to rest at Lithopolis, Ohio. His wife, daughter of John Fisher, was born in Fairfield County, Ohio, and she was in her seventy-first year at the time of her death, which occurred June 28, 1890. She was buried beside her husband in the cemetery at Lithopolis. The children born of this union were ten in number, viz: Nathan, our subject; Sarah Ann, wife of William Wilson, a farmer in the State of Ohio; Mary Elizabeth, deceased, whose husband, Edward Coffman, had control of the canal-boats in Ohio, where he lived; Joseph Havens, deceased, who was a farmer in Jefferson County, Kansas, and married Caroline Hostler; John, a farmer in Ohio, who was twice married, first to Caroline Morehart, then to Elizabeth Foor; Henrietta, who married John Shulky, a farmer in Ohio, now deceased; Ellen, unmarried; Martha, deceased, married Elijah Morehart, a farmer of Ohio; Jacob, deceased, who was also married; and Francis Marion, a drayman, who married a Miss Foor and lives in his native state. NOTE: The way this census taker did the township is a bit confusing. Normally he would use quote marks if the person's surname was the same as the entry above it. For this family, though, he rewrote the name "Runkle" for Katharine, which is often an indication that they are not married but perhaps sister and brother. He also wrote out "Andrew Gipson" making it look as if Gipson is the last name rather than the middle name as I've seen in other records. It's hard to differenciate as to whether some of the names he wrote down were MIDDLE names, or LAST names because of the way he made entries.

JOHN E. WEISER, township clerk of Walnut township, and proprietor of a general merchandise establishment at Walnut, was born at Greencastle, Fairfield County, Ohio, on the 3rd of February, 1866, and is a son of Samuel and Eve Ann (Carris) Weiser.
The great-great-grandfather of our subject, Conrad Weiser, came to America with his father when but an infant, was adopted into a tribe of Pequod Indians and reared by his savage friends from the age of two years to 21. He became a master of the Indian language in all its branches, and accompanied Washington as his interpreter in the French and Indian War. In connection with the genealogy of the Weisers, it should also be stated that the familyis closely connected with the Muhlenbergs, who settled the township by that name and christened it.
Samuel Weiser, the grandfather of our subject, migrated from Pennsylvania to Fairfield County, Ohio, in early manhood and settled on a farm. Later he moved to Greencastle in that county, where he served as postmaster and filled the office of justice of the peace for 40 years.
Samuel Weiser, the father of our subject, was born, reared and educated in Bloom township, Fairfield County, Ohio, and married Eve Ann Carris, daughter of George Carris. His wife was born in France, near the German frontier. Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Weiser reside at Greencastle, the former aged 80 years, and the latter, aged 78. Their nine children are as follows : George R., Charles F., Calvin W., Almeda, wife of John Schofner; Mary, unmarried ; John E.; Eveline, married to Henry Brenner; Jesse W. and Thomas H.
John E. Weiser nearly reached his majority as a resident of Fairfield County, coming to Walnut township in 1886 and at once securing a position as a school teacher. He followed this profession with unvarying success for 15 years. In 1899 he founded the general merchandise business which he still conducts, and for three years served as postmaster of Walnut. In politics he is a Democrat, and as representative of that party has served three terms, or a period of seven years, as township clerk. He is a member of the Knights of Pythias.
On March 3, 1892, Mr. Weiser was married to Lilly B. Noggle, daughter of Isaac Noggle, of Walnut township. They have four children--Rayman, Harold, Frances and Orville.
