The surname ANNESHENSLEY, spelled various ways, was often shortened to just HENSEL. If you're looking for a HENSEL, check the Anneshensley spelling.
An example would be George Hensel b abt 1905 who had a son Rod. The census shows the name as HENSEL but his wife's tombstone, and Rod's death record, clearly show ANNESHENSLEY.

1919 - H. SACKRITER - ACTIVE MASON - Dies at Monticello After Short Illness. Monticello, Oct. 10 - Henry Sackriter, one of the most prominent Masons in central Illinois, and a long time resident of this city, died at 5:30 Friday morning from complication of diseases, after a short illness. This summer, Mr. Sackriter and wife went to Columbus, O., for an extended visit with their daughter, Mrs. Charles John. While there he was taken ill and for a time his life was despaired of. He recovered sufficiently, however, to return home three weeks ago last Saturday. About a week ago he became ill again. He was born Dec. 10, 1832 in Dunsessel, France. At the age of twenty-two he came to America, and settled in Ohio, coming from there to Piatt county. On Sept. 22, 1857, he married Sophia Stuckey. Nine children were born to them. The family moved to Monticello in 1876. For over thirty years he had been associated with the business interests of this city. He was first in the clothing business for several years. In 1892 he built the brick hotel which still bears his name and conducted the hotel until three years ago. Probably no man in this section was better known in Masonic orders than Mr. Sackriter. He was a member of Markwell chatper 4, O.T.S., Fraternal Lodge No. 48, Monticello Coundil 27, all of Monticello, Urbana Knights Templar commandery, and was an honorary member of the Champaign commandery. For over twenty-five years he held the office of treasurer in the chapter here, and at the time of his death wa treasurer of the Council and Blue Lodge. He is survived by his wife and five children, Mrs. Sarah John of Columbus, O., Mrs. Katie Garver of Monticello, Mrs. Anna Stevens of Galesburg, Mrs. Julia Farra of Peoria, and W. H. Sackriter of Cerro Gordo. The funeral will be held at the Presbyterian church Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock, in charge of the Masons. At his request the Decatur commandery members have been invited to act as escorts. Interment will be in Monticello, Mr. Sackriter made all arrangements for his funeral about three years ago. [Decatur Review, Decatur, IL, Oct. 10, 1919]
1919 - Knight's Templars Attend Sackriter Funeral. Twenty-five members of Urbana Commandery, No. 16, Knights Templar, went to Monticello yesterday to act as escort to the Monticello Blue Lodge of Masons at the funeral of Henry Sackriter, whose death removes the last of the Monticello residents who united with Urbana Commandery back in the 70's before Champaign Commandary was chartered. The services were conducted from the First Presbyterian church of Monticello, of which Mr. Sackriter had been a long member. [Urbana Daily Courier, Urbana, IL., Oct. 13, 1919, p 1]
