"Jacob Beery was the earliest settler in the northeast part of [Walnut] township [Pickaway Co.,OH]. He arrived from Northampton county, PA, in 1807, and settled where his son, David Beery, now lives, where he continued to reside until his death in 1845. His widow died in March, 1866, having reached the advanced age of nearly 88 years. Their three children--Sarah, Lydia and David--came in with them, and they all subsequently married into the family of Jacob Schleich. The wife David (Harriet Schleich) died January 18, 1863. They had 10 children, nine of who are living", "History of Franklin and Pickaway Counties, Ohio", Williams Bros., 1880, p 275.

Thomas was actually living in Columbus, OH at the time of his death, but was visiting in Alliance were he became ill and died. After the death of Caroline, Thomas married Elizabeth G. Miller at his age 75."

LOCATION: 1916 - While returning from the Canal Winchester Normal School on his Motor Cycle Monday evening, the wheel slipped on a stone turning the corner and the rider, Charles Hanna, was thrown to the ground. Fortunately Florin Gibbony saw him fall and ran to his assistance. Charles could not walk, but with the help of Florin was able to remount the motor cylce and proceeded on his way to the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Hanna of Havenstport. "Marriage of Prominent Residents of Van Wert county celebrated in Columbus. The Columbus Dispatch says: Announcement is being made of the marriage of Miss Opal L. McCrory, of Ohio City, and M. Waldo Clifford Ault, 60 East Eight avenue, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles D. Ault, of Willshire, Ohio. The ceremony was solemnized at the home of the officiating minister, Rev. Joel V. Waring, 50 West Fourth Avenue, pastor of the Third avenue Methodist Episcopal Church. The only attendants at the wedding were Miss Ethel Marie Straw and Miss Mary Straw. Mrs. Ault, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. JEsse McCory of Ohio City, attended Ohio State University. She has been teaching school at Wren, Ohio, for the past three years and will also teach in that school this coming year. Mr. Ault was graduated from the college of art, Ohio State University in --- and is now a graduate assistant in the physiological chemstry department. He is a member of Sigma Delta --- fraternity, Phi ----- Upsilon, honorary chemical fraternity, and Sigma Ni, national scientific fraternity. Johnson parlors at Baltimore, O. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday from Betzer church with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Two sons, Ottis and Edson Palmer of Baltimore, and a daughter, Mrs. Eugen Conklin of Carroll survive.

OBIT: Ellis E. Sponsler. Funeral services for Ellis Edward Sponsler of Everett, who died Wednesday night have been scheduled for Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Conner Funeral Home, Everett. Dr. James R. Clinton, pastor of the Everett Congregational Christian Church, will officiate. Mr. Sponsler was born in Everett on March 23, 1910, a son of Harry H. and Ida May (Howsare) Sponsler, both of whom survive. He was united in marriage with the former Rhonda Leona Foor in 1929. Mrs. Sponsler survives with the following children: Richard J., who is stationed in England with the U. S. Air Force; Kenneth Edward, Judith Ann and Debra Lee, all at home. Also surviving are one brother, harry Sponsler, Jr., and three sisters, Mrs. Alvera Beegle, Mrs. Evelyn Sponsler of Everett, and Mrs. Margaret Reeser of Harrisburg. Mr. Sponsler had one grandson. 1924 - Saturday afternoon as O. L. Wise, county agent of Whiteside county and
formerly Clinton county agent, was bringing his two daughters, Midlred and
Mabel from their home in Morrison, for a visit at the home of their
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Foor in DeWitt, a car driven by a Rock
Island man skidded on the hill about a mile east of town and completely
demolished the Wise car. No one was hurt and as Mr. and Mrs. Clifford
McDonald were on their way to DeWitt, they brought the two young ladies with
