Mrs. Meldania Foore Boswell, widow of Alfred Clyde Boswell and mother of the three singing Boswell Sisters, died here today at her home, the Lloyd-Boswell Farm on Peekskill Hollow Road. She was born seventy-five years ago at Moberly, near Kansas City, Mo. After her marriage she lived in New Orleans where her husband was district manager for the Fleischmann Manufacturing Company. Mr. Boswell is said to have been a descendant of James Boswell, biographer of Samuel Johnson. Mrs. Boswell, who had been living here for the last three years, leaves her three daughters, Connee, the best known of the trio, who is the wife of Harry Leedy of New York; martha, the wife of Maj. George L. Lloyd of Putnam Valley, NY; and Vet, the wife of John Paul Jones of Toronoto, Ont., and two sisters, Mrs. Charles R. Boswell and Mrs. George Beetho. A son, Clyde Boswell, was killed in action in the first World War. [New York Times, July 7, 1947]
