CENSUS: 1820 Bloom Twp., Fairfield Co., OH page 214 line 31 lists a John Dunkle; two males, one 0-10, one 16-26, and one female 16-26.

"John N. Dunkel, father of George S. Dunkel of Germany ancestry, was born in Pickaway County, Ohio, to John and Catherine Morehart Dunkel and married Leanna Stout on July 29, 1847 at Circleville, Ohio." Illinois sesquicentennial edition of Christian County history, Jacksonville, Ill.,: Printed by Production Press, 1968, p 494.

"John Dunkle and Catherine Morehart were married in Reading, Pennsylvania, on July 6, 1819. John was born Sept. 13, 1797 in Berks Co., Pennsylvania, and Catherine, December 1, 1801. They moved to Pickaway COunty, Ohio. Them them were born 14 children. Two died in infancy. Their twelve remaining children were Jacob, John N., George, Johnathan, David, Andrew and Mary -- twins, Anne, Sarah, Catherine, Lavina and Betty. In 1855 the entire family, some married, came by wagon train to Menard County, by way of Logansport, Indiana. Here Jacob, the oldest son, married an Indian girl and remained in Logansport. The rest of the family settled in Menard County. Here John died October 30, 1867, and Catherine, March 5, 1872. They are buried in Richland Cemetery near Pleasant Plains. Illinois sesquicentennial edition of Christian County history, Jacksonville, Ill.,: Printed by Production Press, 1968, p 495.

Monday, January 15, 1917, ROCHESTER SENTINEL, Indiana.
Elijah OLDFATHER, 79, died Monday morning at 10:10 at his home on South Elm Street, after a short illness, caused by complications due to old age. Altho he had been in feeble health for months he did not take to his bed until last Friday. Mrs. Oldfather, who survives, said that his death was hastened by trouble and worry.

Mr. Oldfather was born in Ohio, August 8th, 1837. After his marriage, he moved to near Bunker Hill, later moving to Fulton county, locating on a farm east of Rochester, where he lived for 38 years, recently moving to the city. Mr. and Mrs. Oldfather were the parents of eight children, six of whom are living: Mrs. Lucy HARP of Ohio; Mrs. Alfred FOORE of near Athens; Mrs. Emma STIVER of Ohio; Mrs. Bessie SHAFER of Argos and David OLDFATHER and Mrs. Lottie GREGORY of Rochester.
Mr. Oldfather was a member of the Presbyterian church. He leaves a foster son, Edgar PULSE, who has made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Oldfather since he was a baby. He leaves one sister, Mrs. Eliza STUTZ of Farmersville, Ohio.

OBIT: Tuesday, October 4, 1932 issue of The News-Sentinel, Rochester, Indiana. Mrs. Alfred FOOR, 68, passed away at her farm home in Henry township at 4:30 o'clock Tuesday morning. Death resulted from paralysis after an illness of two weeks.

Jennie [OLDFATHER], daughter of Elijah and Mary OLDFATHER, was born in Montgomery county, Ohio, on April 26, 1864. When 12 years of age she with her parents removed to Bunker Hill, Ind., and later came to Henry township where she has since resided. On November 19th, 1886, she was united in marriage to Alfred FOOR. Survivors are three children, Earl [FOOR], Grace [FOOR] and Clark FOOR, all of Henry Township, three sisters, Mrs. Bessie SHAFER, of Argos, Mrs. Lottie GREGORY, of Rochester and Mrs. Emma STIVER, of Farmersville, Ohio and one brother, Dave OLDFATHER of Argos. A sister, Mrs. Lucy HARP, of Germantown, Ohio prceded her in death.

Funeral arrangements had not been made as this issue of the News-Sentinel went to press.

October 5, 1932 issue - Funeral services for Mrs. Alfred H. FOOR, whoi died at her home a half mile south of Athens Tuesday morning will be held from the Church of God at the corner of Main and Third streets at 2 p.m. Thursday. Rev. Daniel SLAYBAUGH of Akron, will be in charge. Burial will be made in the Odd Fellows cemetery.

She was born in Shelby county, Oct 20 1880, the daughter of John and Fannie
Hunt SPECHT. She was married to Clyde Foor in 1900 and he preceded her in
death in 1956. One son, two brothers, and three sisters also preceded her.
She was a member of the United Methodist church of Lakewood.

Surviving are one son, Woodrow Foor of Lakewood; one sister, Mrs. Coy
(Gertrude) Askins of Morton, six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren.
