Partition records for Conrad lists a "Mary MOREHART" as an heir, "Partition Record Abstracts, V2, 1851-1900 Fairfield County, Ohio", Fairfield County Chapter OGS, 1988, p 29.
DOD: Mentioned in Henry R. Morehart's partion records, "Partition Record Abstracts, V2, 1851-1900 Fairfield County, Ohio", Fairfield County Chapter OGS, 1988, p 71. "Widow was Mar who died in 1894".
DOB/DOD/POBurial: "Cemeteries of Bloom Township, Fairfield County, OH", Fairfield Co., Ohio, Chapter OGS, 1996, p 280, 387. Years only: 1820-1893
DOD/POD: From probate records; scanned copy sent to me by a person who wishes to remain anonymous, April 2006. It shows she died October 16, 1893 at 73y 1m 9d. and was born and died in Bloom Twp., and was a widow. The record is listed under Greencastle precint of Bloom Twp. She resided in Greencastle and died of dropsy. The sender of this info figured her birth out to be "most likely September 30, 1820". When I use two different programs to figure the date, it comes to Sept. 7, 1820.
OBIT: On the 11th inst at her home near Greencastle, Mrs. Mary Morehart, aged 83 years and 16 days. The deceased leaves a large family to mourn her departure. She was an exemplary member of the Reformed church and was loved and respected by all who knew her. The funeral took place on Sunday forenoon from the Zion's Reformed church, the services being conducted by Rev. J. Heffley. [image of obit emailed to me by anonymous; original source The Winchester Times, Canal Winchester, October 18, 1893]
NOTE: There are discrepancies in her death date. The probate records show she died at 73y 1m 9d on October 16th, 1893, and the obit says the 11th at 83y 16d. The '83' definitely appears to be an error since census records back up the more likely age of 73 at death. The obit states she was buried on a Sunday. Looking at an 1893 calendar, the 11th is a Wednesday, making the Sunday as a day of burial as the 15th. Usually, especially back then, a person was buried within 2 or 3 days. If she did indeed die on the 11th, it would've been more likely she'd have been buried on the 13th or 14th. If she died on the 16th as the probate records show, the 16th is a MONDAY. I sincerely doubt they waited 7 days to bury her on the following Sunday which was the 22nd. Since there is a known error in the obituary... stating she was 83y old, perhaps the mention of being buried on a Sunday is also an error.
