[351]
DEATH: It appears Maria must have died after the baptism of their last
recorded child, Marilyn, who was baptised 22 Apr 1837.
In 1830 census the oldest female was between 20-30, making her born ca 1800-1810
The 1840 census shows the oldest female still between 20-30, making her born ca 1810-1820, unless I viewed these two census's incorrectly. That makes her born probably abt 1809-1811, in theory.
Census records of her children show her being born in PA.

LOCATION: 1973 - brother Harry Outcalt of Carmel, CA is listed as one of the survivors of Evelyn C. Durant, 75, a former Basil resident who died at home in her Bexley, Ohio home. Her husband was Alva Durant, sister Don Bibler of Monroe, CA. [Lancaster Eagle Gazette, Lancaster, Ohio, Jun 20, 1973]
Death certificate 21471 image. Harvey Gilbert Outcalt, 1554 Highland, Columbus, Franklin Co., Ohio, March 1, 1920, aged 85y 11m 18d, carpenter, married to Sarah outcalt, born March 13, 1834 in Basil, Ohio, to Gilbert Outcalt b OH and Nancy Campbell b OH. Informant was wife. Buried Green Lawn, March 3.
NOTE: Several published lineages show this same Harvey Outcalt as having the middle name of CAMPBELL rather than GILBERT. His census records consistantly show his middle initial as "C". Death certificates are only as good as their informant, which in his case was his wife. Perhaps instead of having the middle name of his father, Gilbert, he was given the middle name of Campbell which was the maiden name of his mother.

NAME/DOB/DOBap/Parentage: "Churchbooks of the Lutheran and German Reformed Congregations of the Glick/Salem (Union)/Brick Church, 1808-1915, Bloom Township, Fairfield County, OH", Fairfield Co. Chapter OGS, 1993, p 41.
See notes on father also.
"Alonzo W. Strode obtained his education in the schools of Lithopolis and Marion, Ohio, being graduated at the latter place. He paid his own way through school and, though frequently encountering discouraging and disheartening conditions, worked steadily on until he had attained the desired proficiency and had become well qualified by educational training for the practical and responsible duties of life. He attributes his success in securing an education "under difficulties" largely to his mother, who, fully realizing the value of mental development, cheered and encouraged him to the end. Taking up the profession of teaching, he was thus engaged for nine years, imparting clearly and readily to others the knowledge that he had acquired. Since his marriage, however, he has given his time and energies to agricultural interests and owns a valuable tract of land of ninety-three acres in Madison township, in the careful cultivation of which he has gained a creditable degree of prosperity.
On the 14th of September, 1893, Mr. Strode was united in marriage to Miss Ida E. Seymour. At the polls he gives his support to the men and measures of the democracy and in religious faith is a Presbyterian, having served as eider in the chrch for twenty-five years. Fraternally he is a Mason and is master of the lodge at Groveport, which was organized in 1850 and has now more than sixty members. He is likewise identified with the Grange and in all life's relations has been true to his obligaions and duties, being greatly esteemed throughout the community in which he resides."
