OBIT: Rochester Sentinel, Rochester, IN., July 8, 1926
Another pioneer resident of Rochester and Newcastle township answered death's call, when Allen FENSTERMAKER, aged 81, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Jannery, of Liberty township, at eleven o'clock Wednesday night. Death resulted from a complication of diseases accompanying advanced years, from which the deceased had suffered for the past year.
Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. George FENSTERMAKER, was born in Pennsylvania [sic] in the year of 1845, moving to this county with his parents when he was 21 years of age, following the occupation of farmer throughout his entire life. The wife of the deceased preceded him in death by thirty years. The surviving children are William [FENSTERMAKER], of Wenona, N.C., Charles [FENSTERMAKER], Stanley, North Dakota, Fred [FENSTERMAKER], of Rochester, and Mrs. Alonzo BLUE of Mentone, and Mrs. Chas. JANNERY of Liberty township. The deceased was a member of the Christian church, uniting in that faith at Hammond, Ind., many years ago.
Awaiting word from distant relatives, funeral arrangements could not be announced today.
[Next issue]
The Allen FENSTERMAKER funeral will be held at two o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Christian church. Rev. W. C. ASCHANHORT will officiate and burial will be made in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
NOTE: Allen FENSTERMAKER does not have a stone at the cemetery, or at least it wasn't located when the TOMBAUGH's transcribed the stones and published in 1991. His wife, according to her obit, was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, but she's found in the I.O.O.F. cemetery beside one of their children.
Thursday, Nov. 13, 1958, Rochester Sentinel, Rochester, IN.

1910 - the trial of Alva Peek charged with assault with a deadly weapon, was called for trial Tuesday afternoon and is now in progress. The indictment against Peek grew out of an alleged assault on John Navis, a neighbor, one Feb. 8, 1910, on the highway west of town. Peek and Navis had been opposing parties in a civil suit that was tried before a justice of the peace in Shelbyville that day, and Peek lost out. He and severl friends started for their homes in a remote part of Rose Twp., and a little later Navis, accompanied by Clint Foor, also started for home. As they crossed Robinson creek bridge, a few miles southwest of the city, Navis claims that peek and his companions intercepted him, and while James C. Salmons held his horse, Peek procured a buggy whip and assaulted him. (more to article) [Daily Review, Decatur, IL, Jan. 25, 1911]

1963 - "Delaware -- a local teenager escaped with only minor injuries when the bicycle he was riding collided with a car driven by a Marion man Sunday at 1:35 p.m. Local patrolmen report that Edward E. Seaton, 35, of 869 Robinson St., started to pass the bicycle ridden by Emory Foor, 13, of Delaware. After the driver sounded his horn, officers say the boy cut in front of the car. The impact threw the boy on top of the hood of the car and he fell to the pavement when the car stopped. Foor was taken to Jane Case hospital and treated for minor injuries. There were no charges filed, patrolmen said. [Marion Star, Marion, Ohio, April 1, 1963]

NOTE: Conover's book mentions Elmira and Netta as William and Ortle (Woy) Foor's children (no dates). Here in the 1900 census, it lists the two as being nieces of Ortle. One theory at this time is that the relationship of those two isn't in relation to Ortle, but rather to her brother Sherman Hoy.
