OBIT: John Newton Durant was born near Logan, Hocking County, Ohio, July 23, 1853, and departed this life January 21, 1922, aged 69 years 3 months and 28 days. He was united in marriage to Mary Anne Kimble, January 2, 1872. To this union were born 3 daughters and one son -- Mrs. Clara E. Srawn, now living at Logan, Ohio; Georgie Anna, Mary Maggie and the son having preceded their father in death. His first wife died in 1878. On July 22, 1882, he was married to Eliza Beicher. To this union were born two daughters, and one son -- Mrs. Bertha Bishop of Chicago, Ill., William T. Durant of Columbus, Ohio, one stepson, John H. Hay, of Canal Winchester, Ohio, also survives him. He is survived by two sisters -- Mrs. Elizabeth Bowen and Mrs. Catherine Morton of Canal Winchester, Ohio, and two brothers, Wm. Durant of Logan, Ohio and Lewis Durant of Columbus, Ohio. A number of years ago he made a profession of religion and joined the United Brethren Church. Nearly all of his life was spent in or near Canal Winchester. He was called suddenly out of this life, on Friday night. He seemed to be as well as usual, and spent the evening talking with his family and his neighbors, but before the light of another day dawned his soul took its flight into the world beyond. The funeral services were held at the United Brethren Church, Monday, at 10 a.m., conducted by Rev. N. W. Bertner, paster. Interment at Union Grove cemetery. CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Donald E. Foor, 76, of 1563 Shatzer Road, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2006 at his home.
Born Oct. 14, 1929, in Cairnbrook, Pa., he was the son of the late Raymond and Minnie Thomas Foor.
He retired in 1983 from Quincy United Methodist Home, where he had been employed as a maintenance foreman. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of the Abundant Life Chapel and the Bond of Love men's singing group. He is survived by his wife, Helen R. Harkcom Foor, whom he married Oct. 26, 1951; two daughters, Judith L. Nozzi and Deborah E. Atherton, both of Chambersburg; three sons, Donald R. Foor, Barry A. Foor and Jeffrey E. Foor, all of Chambersburg; two sisters, Ruth Evanchesky of Central City, Pa., and Charlotte Hurley of Uniontown, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Leah Harkcom and Ruby Miller; and three brothers, James Foor, Robert Foor and Ralph Foor.
Services will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at Abundant Life Chapel in Chambersburg. The Rev. Sampson Myers will officiate. Burial will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday 30 minutes prior to services at the church.
Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.

MUSCATINE, Iowa - Richard O. Hathaway Jr., 63, of Muscatine, died at home on Friday, May 11, 2007.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2007, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Terry Lancaster will officiate. Casket bearers will be Richard Hathaway III, Bryan Hathaway, Michael Hathaway, Daniel VanAcker, Ron Hathaway, and Darrell Trobaugh. Burial will be in Island Cemetery, Fruitland. The family will gather with friends at the Eagles Lodge for a potluck following the committal service.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2007, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials may be made to the family in care of Richard Hathaway III.
Richard was born on December 14, 1943, in Muscatine, the son of Richard and Nellie Foor Hathaway. His first marriage was to Julia V. Rowland and they later divorced. He later married Penny S. Trobaugh and they also later divorced.
He was a US Army veteran serving from 1962 to 1965 and was also a member of the American Legion.
He worked as a truck driver for On Time Delivery.
Richard was a singer and songwriter and enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include four sons, Richard O. Hathaway III and his wife, Lisa, of Annawan, Illinois, Bryan S. Hathaway and wife, Laura, of Stillwell, Oklahoma, Michael E. Hathaway and wife, Laura, of Stillwell, Oklahoma, and Daniel VanAcker of Fresno, California; one daughter, Sherryl Henry of North Carolina; seven grandchildren; his mother, Nellie Becker and her special friend, Alfred Creamer, of Fruitland; one brother, Ron Hathaway of Decater, Alabama; eight sisters, Mary Ann Gatzke of Atalissa, Arla Stapp of Grandview, Connie Hawley of Loveland, Colorado, Jody Morris of Muscatine, Jackie Cantero of Mineral, Illinois, Dorothy Demay of Mineral, Illinois, Rebecca Hathaway of Davenport, and Lori Summy of Jacksonville, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his father.

"JOHN WAGONER, Justice of the Peace; Bloom Centre ; was born in Fairfield Co., Ohio, in 1819, was reared upon a farm and was married in 1840 to Miss Margaret Slough, of Fairfield Co., Ohio. They have had four children, three of whom died in infancy ; the only surviving one is now the wife of John H. Nothstine, of Kansas. Mrs. Wagoner died in 1852, in Fairfield Co. In 1853 Mr. Wagoner came to Bloomfield Tp. and married Mary Coover, of Logan Co.; since, he has been engaged in farming ; he has been elected Justice of the Peace for four terms and gives entire satisfaction to all parties ; he has been Town Trustee two years.
