Metamora , Ohio - age 88 died Sunday in Bryan, Ohio care center. She was born October 28, 1894 in Lucas Co Ohio and lived in the Toledo Adrian & Metamora area all her life. Her husband Herbert Albert Foor died in 1959. Mrs. Foor is survived by a daughter Mrs. Herbert (Helen) Wright of Shipshewanna, Ind., a stepdaughter, Mrs. Helen Frank of Toledo, and sons. Wilber Foor of Edmore & Stanley Foor of Adrian, 10 grandchildren, 10 great grand children. Funeral is Wednesday at 1"00 p.m. Biehl-Malone Funeral Home of Metamoria. Rev. M.E. Perkins of Adrian officiated burial Amboy Township Cemetery.

Mrs. Julia FENSTERMACHER, 85, pioneer resident of the community, died at the home of her son, Ora, on south Monroe street at 1:30 Monday morning. She had been seriously ill for about a week. Death was due to complications resulting from old age. She was one of the well known residents of the town and her death will be mourned by a large number of friends.
Julia FENSTERMAKER was born July 10, 1838 at Fairfield, Ohio, the daughter of William and Polly FENSTERMAKER and died at the age of 85 years, three months and twelve days. Her maiden name was the same as that of her husband's with a slight difference in spelling. She married Enoch FENSTERMACHER who preceded her in death. Two sons were born to this union, Ora [FENSTERMACHER] and Al [FENSTERMACHER], both of whom survive and live in Rochester. One granddaughter, Helen FENSTERMACHER, also survives. She was a member of the Presbyterian church.
Funeral at the Ora Fenstermacher residence Tuesday with Rev. D. S. PERRY officiating. Burial at the I.O.O.F. cemetery.

The couple was married June 28, 1894 in Ray's Cove by Justice of the Peace Levi Figard. Mrs. Foor is a daughter of the late Mille Ann (Foor) Foor and Scott W. Foor. Mr. Foor is a son of the late Hanna (Manspeaker) Foor and S. J. N. Foor. They are both natives of Ray's Cove, in which place Mr. Foor was engaged in farming and lumburing business until 1917 when the Foor family moved to Everett. In Everett, Mr. Foor organized the Everett Hardwood Lumber Co., now operated by his sons. He was president of the Ray's Cove [fold obliterates the next line]... yes, and also served as Supt. of Sunday Schools for 30 years, and was a trustee of the Defiance College in Defiance, Ohio, for 16 years. He was a member of the Everett Borough Council for 8 years, serving as president for 7 years. He is now serving his third term of Representative in the General Assembly and has been nominated for a fourth term.
Mr. and Mrs. Foor were the recipients of appropriate gifts, beautiful flowers, and cards. They were greeted with felicitations from over 200 people who called during open house hours. They are the parents of these children: Wlmer W., Oscar A., Lawrence C., Percy G., A. F. Foor, Mrs. Pearl College, Mrs. Phoebe Felton, Mrs. Rhode Sponsler, all of Everett; Mrs. Blanche Akers, Johnstown, and Miss Betty Foor of Harrisburg. Two children are deceased, an infant son, and a son Earl, victim of a hunting accident in 1941. They have 35 grandchildren, 7 of whom are in the armed forces, namely Pfc. MArvin Foor, Camp Philips, Kansas; Pfc. Paul College, McDill Field, Fla.; Pvt. Boyd M. Akers, Jr., Italy, Pvt. Elmer W. Foor, Jr. Wooford College, SC., Pvt. Edwin Dail Felton, Keesler Field, Miss., Cpl. Robert D. Gaye, Willson Gernal Hospital, Staunton, VA; and Pvt. Donald Leach, Kansas. There are also 2 great grandchildren.

Born in Detroit on July 24, 1910, she came to Gladwin County in 1945. Mrs Foor had worked for 16 years for Bell Telephone in Detroit.
The former Dorothy Shumway, she was married to Arthur L. Foor on October 21, 1951, in Gladwin.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Gladys Shumway of Gladwin; and one brother, Donald Shumway of Gladwin.
Services were held today, Wednesday, at 2 p.m. from the Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerry Locher officiated and burial was in the Billings Township Cemetery.

The Slayter family provided funds for the development of WGSF-TV, Channel 31. Mrs. Slayter and her husband had donated $35,000 on Dec. 23, 1960, to the Newark Public School System for the local estabilshment of an educational television station that was constructed in 1962 on top of Horns Hill on a six and one-half acre plot. The station also helped with a grant from the Ford Foundation.,,, [talks about husband]... Mrs. Slayter was active in many social and civic organizations including Monday Talks, Moundbuilders Country Club, Progressive Club, Newark Garden Club and the Daughters of the American REvolution. Isaac N. "Ike" HORTON, 73, of Dudley, died Sept. 8, 2000, at Bon Secour
Holy Family Hospital, Altoona. Born March 6, 1927, in Dudley, he was the
son of the late Clair I. and Pearl (Taylor) Horton. He was united in
marriage to Madeline E. Foore April 7, 1951, in Maryland. She preceded
him in death April 17, 1984. Surviving are the following children: Kim
Didyk, Robertsdale; Clair I. Horton, Eagle Foundry; Robert E. Horton,
Riddlesburg; and Blaine N. Horton, also of Riddlesburg. There are seven
grandchildren. One son, Jeffery A. Horton, preceded him in death. Also
surviving are four sisters and two brothers: Edna Weaverling, Saxton;
Emily Biggs, Florida; Jeanie Barnett, Betty Koplets, Howard Horton and
Robert Horton, all of Alliquippa. A graduate of Saxton-Liberty High
School, he attended Stevens Trade School until entering the United
States Air Force in 1945. He was a member of the Dudley United Methodist
Church and American Legion Watson and Black Post No. 126. He was
employed as a mechanic at Letterkenny Army Depot for 33 years. His
hobbies included hunting and fishing. Funeral services will be held
Tuesday, Sept. 12, at 10 a.m., at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home,
Broad Top, with Pastor Dave Bailey officiating. Interment will be made
in the Dudley Protestant Cemetery, where full military honors will be
accorded.

Roy Lee Powell, 69, of Toledo, OH passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013, at The Toledo Hospital.
He was born October 8, 1944, in Ashley OH to Clifford and Francis (Shank) Powell. Roy was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1966 to 1979, and doing three tours of duty in Vietnam, where he earned many honorable awards and medals. He married his high school sweetheart, Carol Irene Bernadette Foor on April 21, 1973.
Roy was employed for over 25 years at Toledo Technologies (Stamping), as a press operator, where he was a member of Local 12. Roy was an outdoor enthusiast,
enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved to play cards,
especially poker.
Left to cherish Roy's memory is his wife, Carol Powell; daughter, Dawn Powell; sons, Wade (Darlene) and Daniel (Ashley) Powell; daughter of heart, Megan (Garth) Fuller; daughter-in-law, Cathy Powell; sisters, Virginia Herriot, Grace (Clyde) Sherman, Dorothy (Olin) Starkey; brother, Clifford (Carol) Powell. He was a proud grandfather to Charles, Megan, and Christopher Powell and especially, Justus Robaszkiewicz- Pa Pa's girl. One great-grandchild, Hunter and four grandchildren of heart, Carrie, Julie, Mary and Brooklyn. Also, 5 step-grandchildren in Iowa. He was preceded in death by his son, Charles Powell, and granddaughter, Destanie Robaszkiewicz.
Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St., Sylvania, OH, Sunday, January 5, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Monday, January 6, from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 7, at 10 a.m. from St. Clement Catholic Church, 3030 Tremainsville Rd., Toledo, OH. Interment to follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Those wishing to give a memorial in Roy's name can be of donor's choice.

A 19-year-old man killed himself Monday night at home near Kewanna.
Lance Corey STEVENS, 19, was pronounced dead at his home, 11113 W. Fulton County Road 250 South, police said today.
Police records say officers were called to that address at 11:46 p.m. Steven's stepfather Klise SAVAGE reported an attempted suicide.
When officers arrived they found Stevens dead of a single, self-inflicted gunshot wound. Fulton County Coroner Jon GOOD ruled the death a suicide. Cause of death was a .22-caliber rifle shot to the chest, Good said.

Salesman Dies of Heart Attack - Harvey Sangmaster [sic] 56 of Groveport, a salesman for the Central Ohio Paper company, was dead on arrival at Grant hospital in Columbus Tuesday. He suffered a heart attack in Crooksville a short time earlier and was taken to the hospital by the Cannon and Cannon ambulance. Mr. Sangmaster was well-known in this section and had been a salesman with the firm for a number of years. Surviving are his widow, Gladys; one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy NASH of Nuremberg, Germany; one son, Ralph, of Groveport, one brother, "jcarl f Lithopolis" [Carl of Lithopolis?] and twin grandsons. The body is at the Darfus funeral home in Groveport where friends may call. Services will be conducted at the Groveport Lutheran church at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. Burial will be at Lithopolis.
