Mary A. Moss was born in Jersey City, NJ, March 15, 1837, and after a brief illness of three days departed this life at the home of her daughter in Lancaster, Ohio, March 13, 1917. Aged 79y 11m 28d. When quite young her parents moved to Ohio and located in Ashville, Pickaway County. On May 12, 1855, she was married to Samuel F. Moss of Carroll, Fairfield County, Ohio, and has resided in this county ever since. She leaves to mourn her loss two sons, George W. Moss and Delt Moss of Columbus, Ohio, and four daughters Mrs. Frank P. Miller and Mrs. Jennie Goodwin of this city, and Mrs. Henry Miller and Mrs. N. B. Fisher of Columbus, Ohio, 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
Her husband and six children having preceded her to the spirit world. Early in life she accepted Jesus as her personal Savior and remained faithful to the end. She was a woman of integrity and high character, though at all times quiet and unassuming in manner, kind and genial with all with whom she came in contact, and at all times possessed in a large degree, the confidence and esteem of her neighbors and friends. As a friend she was loyal and true, and it was her delight to brighten the pathway of the life with a helful hand, a cheerful smile, and a kind word. [Lancaster Gazette, March 19, 1917]

A two-vehicle motor vehicle accident at 6:40 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2, resulted in injuries to several people and also caused fuel to be spilled into a nearby ditch.
According to an Oregon State Police report, a 2002 Chevrolet pickup was headed east on Three Rocks Road north of Lincoln City, driven by Fred J. Gardner, 65, of Williston, N.D. Gardner crossed Highway 101 in front of a southbound 1999 Chevrolet Astro van, driven by Ann Mortens Foor, 53, of Neskowin.
The left front of the van struck the left rear of the pickup. The pickup spun around and came to rest in the ditch facing southwest. The vehicle's fuel tank was punctured in the crash, and about 24 gallons of gasoline leaked into the ditch. [News Times, Newport, OR, Sept. 10, 2004]
MAIDEN NAME NOT CONFIRMED. There are two children born in Los Angeles Co. in the 1970s who's father's surname was FOOR and mother's was MORTENSE. This "Mortens" may be the same individual. I'm merging the two but the data is NOT confirmed. The deciding factor was that there appears to be a Pamela L. Foor (one of the children born in Los Angeles) who is 29 in 2004 and listed as being in Newport, Oregon at ussearch.com.
This may be the "Ann Mortens Foor", aged 53 "Of Neskowin" Oregon, listed in the Newport News Sept. 10, 2004, as having been in a car accident.
