[8637] NAME/DOB: From Irja Ruffner Coles via email, June 1999.
POB: From himself via email, 7/99.

NAME/DOB/DOM/POM/SPOUSE: Online Texas Marriage info as seen online at RootsWeb. John D. Foor, 61y, Jeanette M. Rachal, 33y.

John D. and Virginia T. Foor are listed in Bexar Co., Texas, deed recordings in Mar 1978.

NOTE: Listed at same address as John D. Foor and Jeannette M. Foor at zabasearch.com is "Pierre Foor", born March 1979. Is this a child of John?

"My father, Morris Bowman Foor, worked in the George Washington Hotel for his uncle William Foor during the 1920's. He met my mother, C. Alberta Tarr, who worked in the hotel. I was born in Washington, PA in 1932 and am the only male Foor in this family. My uncle, Francis Foor worked for his uncle, William Foor in the Francis Marion Hotel, also in the 1920's. He met and married Doris who was also working in the Foor Hotel. They had no children. I am very interested in finding some linkages to my family. My Father lived in Covington, KY as a child. He was orphaned in 1911 and was raised in Indianapolis, IN by John D. and Fanny B. Volz. They and several other family members are buried in the Crow Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis, where I visited just last weekend. " [John Daniel Foor, July 1999, guestbook entry on my site]

"I have several dishes from the William Foor Hotels.
They were the property of my father, Morris B. Foor of Washington, PA,
who worked for his uncle "Will" in the George Washington Hotel in
Washington, PA.
He met my mother, Alberta Foor, who also worked in the hotel.
He previously worked for Will at the Leverich Towers in Brooklyn, NY and
the Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston, SC.
I never met Will, as I was a child when he died, but I heard numerous
glowing stories about him from my father and from my uncle, Francis
Foor, who worked at the Francis Marion Hotel. Francis met his wife,
Doris while working at the Foor hotel in SC.

I have visited Will's grave in Canal Winchester, OH and visited several
of his hotel properties that remain standing.

I have contributed material to the Foor website, including articles from
Canal Winchester about Will and pictures of various hotels.

John D. Foor" Email of February 2006

Illinois Archives also show he died in 1917 in Ridge twp. Could they have divorced? Often women would put 'widowed' rather than divorced back then.
