I am searching for info on Louisa E. FOOR, daughter of Henry FOOR. She married a William H. CODY. I have a suspicion his name could have been William E. CODAY from Ottumwa, Wapello, IA. Louisa Co., IA lists two children of theirs Walter b.12-27-1883 d.
7-22-1884 and Walter ? b. 12-27-1883 d. 7-19-1884. They died in Louisa Co., but were buried in Wapello Co where all my CODY/CODAY's were from. Does anyone have any light to shed on this family. Where was her husband ???
Thanks for the invitation to ask, and your web site is most informative. You've done a GREAT JOB

Be sure and let us know how you connect to the FOOR surname. ALSO, a NEW ONLINE METHOD of sending in your updates and information is now available. See the front page and click on the HOW TO SUBMIT INFORMATION link.

This is fantastic website, I knew we Foors like to reproduce I just didn't realize how much we liked it, lol. I hail from the Bedford County Foor's Everett bunch. My parents Gerald Eugene "Bones" and Lois Jean Ebersole Foor, and Grandparents Alvin Kenne
h and Freda Iantha Clark Foor. If you come from the Foors of Bedford County try the surname Foor, they seemed to like each other a lot my grandfather married one and my Greatgrandfather married a Clark also. My question is "Did we all come from three br
thers that came over from Germany this is what my Father has told me, is this true?" Thank you for your time you have put into this web site it is superior.

I stumbled upon this site by pure accident, and I was aboslutely amazed at all of the information regarding my last name.
I can see that there has been a lot of work put into this site. I am sure all of the other people out there with the "Foor" name would be amazed just like me at the extreme amount of information that is given in this site.

Excellent work! I am now not just Daniel Foor, son of James, son of Charles Lee Foor, son of Charles Martin Foor but four more generations beyond that. It is my belief that the spirits or souls of our ancestors continue to play a part in our lives, and by
honoring them in this way you provide a great service. Thank you kindly Shelly. I will be sharing this site and info from it with my/our family who I'm sure will also appreciate your efforts.
Peace, Daniel

With no disrespect intended, the DAR (Daughter's of the American Revolution)is not very high on my priorities to either join, or use their information for research. Fifty years ago or more, becoming a member of such a society was "The Thing To Do" if you
were a researcher. I, however, have never had any interest in submitting proof of lineages to become a DAR member, or a "First Family of [such-and-such] county", or any other kind of society. I have not searched the DAR records to see if anyone ever sub
itted a FOOR, FUHR or FUHRER lineage to them. I have heard that they, like all works of research, often have errors, so I guess I never really put much thought into sending away for info if there was a lineage submitted.
Have YOU an interest in submitting to the DAR?
For those who want more information on the DAR, their site is at www.dar.org. You can also go to a search engine and search on "Daughter's of the American Revolution" and put in, also, the state of your choice to find a state ch
pter you're interested in.

My mother was Helen Gladys Foor Weir Rose. She had a brother who was captured in the war and was saved from death because they thought he was a Furer because of his last name being Foor. His name is John Lusius Foor.

I'm wondering if our fore father, The mysterious Fuhr was one of the German mercenaries brought over by the English? If not why aren't we registered with the DAR?
